Re: how do you organise your digital music for djing? #2

Buy in FLAC if you can. It is 1000x better than wav imo. has metadata for tagging and better compression. i dont buy digital music but i have seen links for flac around. i'd also recommend using ogg instead of mp3. mp3's are bad (tho they seem to be standard so we have to put up with it). For organi...

Re: ALL CITY BASS - FEB 5 - BROWN ALLEY

Pretty average all round. Bought ticket before hand, of course name not down on any of their lists, ended up having to pay twice. Mez had good dj's but poor sound. I've never enjoyed brown alleys sound really. For being called All City Bass there really needed to be more bass imo (maybe just spoilt ...

Re: Does anyone still buy vinyl?

I still buy vinyl, and I know a lot who still do also. It's far more satisfying for me than an mp3 download (and why would you buy 320 mp3s anyway instead of getting FLAC?). It's also a worthy investment, as my collection has grown in value quite nicely now. Only ever buy records when they're new/ch...

Re: Anyone use a linux machine for audio?

Sound production on Linux won't match Windows or Apple environments for a long time I think. I've been using Linux as my main OS for years now and the only reason I use windows is for cubase. M-Audio has great support under Linux, there's ALSA and OSS drivers available (my M-Audio 2496 works great u...
