yeah im not sure how asia survives. I love white rice, brown rice if im feeling it in salad. bizzaro brown rice has too much texture for my liking. It's nice when it's mixed into stuff but when 75% of the meal is brown rice it doesn't do it for me. I have a really big thing with textures. If the te...

On the topic of sushi... I hate it when you get hand rolls that have only half the filling the size would lead you to beleive they have..... IE: one whole half is nothing but rice.... shits me. not related at all but my girlfirneds brother is a health nut apparently (i call it a eating disorder) wh...

should have done some dentistry to him with your fist ;) gripe: sushi places that only give you one soy sauce fish despite buying two sushi rolls. It's probably on par with pie shops that charge for sauce. It's just rude. I'd rather the pie was $0.20 more expensive and have the sauce included free. ...

I visited a mate last night who orders bulbs off the net. He and another friend decided to go halves in industrial sized order. I walked into his bedroom and he had about 40 boxes of the things. some friends of mine tell a story of a tank of nitrous (maybe 10,000litres or so) with a rubber glove at...

i'd prefer to buy local. but some stuff is just so much cheaper overseas. eg i bought some bike stuff such as a computer with heart rate monitor and whatnot. what i paid for it in aussie dollars was less than my mate could get it for here, cost price. That was like a 50% saving on retail. Mind you s...

...Abolish zone 3? shit Ballieu, we've got more important issues to deal with than a freakin' PT zone. the irony is this is a pretty smart political move given the liberals poll horribly in the outer suburbs and this gives them an issue to ride that speaks to joe average living in zone 3 who doesn'...

And now I need to know where to buy CO2 bulbs so I can look swish mixing drinks! Yeah i never really got into burning cds or dvds. not only are they easily scratched, but you end up with boxes and boxes of them, just like you did with floppy disks 5 years earlier. I just kept buying more and bigger harddrives as it was easier to find stuff, more reliable and usually cheaper ($/M...

Given how much money they spent on the met card infrastucture less than 10 years ago, I'm sure they'll keep trying to make it work. I think the ticketing system is far too complicated for a start. The system in some other countries where you pay a fixed price to ride the system each time seems to b...

re conductors - i reckon this is now more about IR/HR than anything else. To be a streamlined private concern it's not in the interests of Connex (and whoever had it before them) to have a shitload of conductors on the books that they needed to pay super for, admin fees, sick days etc etc ... I'd a...

I think they can detain you until they are satisfied that you are who you say you are. I think it would be unreasonable (moreso than the rest of the legislation) to let you go and then send you a fine anyway because you don't have a driver's licence. they should confirm your identity on the spot. th...

What sort of bike did you end up getting Rob? I got a Giant Talon 07' ... pretty much left everything standard but just got the Schwalbe semi slick tires and the obligatory bar ends :) I was recommended to keep them at 65PSI on a weekly basis. They're fairly thin. What a sweet ride though! I gotta ...
one of my housemates' friends used to leave his fixedwheel unlocked, leaning against the wall of the pub. he'd come out of the pub to find the bike 20metres down the road with a trail of blood leading away from it. fucking bike thieves. actually, funny story about exploding tyres... We were at castlemaine for a weekend of riding and one of my housemates was putting some new tubeless tyres on his wheels. You can get this creamy looking goop stuff that automatically seals up any punctures. You just pour half a bottle into the bottom ...
What's the best presta valve air pump on the market that possibly has a PSI gauge that I can buy ASAP? My tyre has gone flat and I can't take it anywhere atm, no car. buy a track pump. i think mine is topeak. my housemate has a specialized which is rubbish, it feels flimsy and the pressure gadge is...
