I've wanted to start a blog/podcast for awhile, where each episode is a guest producer showing how they made a particular sound. The producers could choose what they wanted to showcase, it could be as complex as a full synth lead or a simple trick/effect they learned. I doubt I'd find the time to ke...

Do what I do and run an old laptop next to your router that just barely scrapes into what you need. The older processors consume a lot less power (since they're not as fast), and as long as it runs XP SP3 w/network, USB and CD it'll usually do the job, even if it is slow as shit to use. I don't think you need a pro to do it, just do some reading online (Auralex have some good reference papers). You'll get the gist of it pretty quickly. Nothing on the wikipedia page mentions anything in the audible range... sounds like whoever made this video just converted the electromagnetic signal recordings into audio. I'm guessing the fact it's all so low-pitched is just artistic choice of whoever did it... still pretty sweet though.
