yes macs are good, BUT!!!, for a lot of processor hungry tasks they are not the best, although they do the job well. I am simply trying to suggest other platforms that I believe are more efficient, flexible and cost-effective. especially considering the huge recent price reduction in Dual 2xx series...

not me, but I'm seriously considering a couple of UAD cards.

with creamware, you also get asio drivers and a couple of I/O no ? for synths i would definately go the creamware, for Fx, i would go PoCo or UAD. PoCo for revrbs/ and sony oxford plugs, UAD for eq and dynamics.

try a power conditioner (furman ones are good) and check that the earth/ground(s) is/are all proper. some houses aren't 'grounded' properly and that (i think) can cause some nasty 50/60hz hum action
