Re: Anyone use a linux machine for audio?
Mmm... dude, that's not really in the spirit of Linux, asking other people to solve your problems... you should only be installing Linux if you enjoy spending your time getting things working and configuring shit that most people don't care about.

Looks like there's a few mods around:

The question is - if you browse the forum on your mobile, will you lose all the new threads next time you visit on a PC? :/

Re: would you use mb.c on a mobile?
I would DEFINITELY use this. In fact, I've been waiting for someone to release an iPhone mod for phpBB for awhile now. It'd be great if it worked like Google Reader's mobile version, where browsing new posts didn't automatically mark them all as read once you closed the window, ie. just the threads ...

Looks okay, nothing mindblowing about it to me though... personally I don't know why they didn't ditch the CDJ line completely after the 1000MK3 and focus on a Pioneer UDJ-1000, ie. a CDJ-1000 except no CD, just a few USB ports.

Optus can work out to be the best deal if you have more than one service with them, eg I've got two mobile phones and broadband with them, so they give a discount. If you have a landline/VOIP phone you also get a discount. Make sure you check out your options for VOIP - instead of paying for a landl...

I usually start out by building up a few 1/2/4/8 bar loops, beginning with the percussion and bass, since that's the main groove I tend to focus on in my tracks. I'll try and come up with a "hook" early on and then when I'm happy with a section, I'll try making a few other sections that co...

There's a good chance you won't hear it, at least as loud as you might in a studio with a sub that goes down to 20Hz - loads of clubs use bassbins that only respond down to about 35-40Hz.

If you're serious about it, just stop doing it. Make a conscious effort, and if you slip up, try again. Habits are breakable... it's hard, but IMHO looking for a silver bullet to magically fix everything isn't going to be fruitful.
