THe lasers on those fukers go after a few years and cost about $200 to replace. they stop playing burnt disks first, then just deteriate form there.

ive had 100's for 5 years and they are good for home use or if you need to slip in cdr's to a set.

500's don't really have much going for them in the way of funtions, but $500 is a reasonable, not special, price for good condition units.
