hi guys...

so i have been involved in the street art/stencil/graff kinda scene for the last couple years...

BRB has asked if im up for getting the art auction happening, and even inviting john so along and not tellin him its a graff auction HA!

I can get some pieces donated from quite a few artists i think, and i will ask some people directly like phibs, reka, unwell bunny who ive worked with before...

is everyone happy for me to do this?

once we have a date, charity, details worked out i will begin the ghetto kitty round up!!!

nice one Kitty :smt023

in another thread you asked how many pieces you should get. I reckon as many as you can. If we start getting more than we can handle we'll stop asking

okay i made a few calls yesterday...

phibs is down, as is form...
ill do a couple of rude ponies or kitties or summin...
and ill do an email out soooon to the rest of the artists i know.
most of what i collect will be street styles/stencil/graff stuff, but i think a cross section of styles would be cool, so if anyone has any other art theyd like to donate, then bring it on!! (elflaymo??)

we need someone who actually knows how to be an auctioneer though...

it helps to present em right, and drive the prices up there!!

It'd be worth talking to more artists - e.g. have you tried the King Street artist space people? There's heaps of good artists involved with that studio who would be right into something like this, I reckon.

lynt > im in touch with unwell etc, but not sure if ive got rekas email, who else is part of nice? should i let you ask them or what?

BRB > great! with pieces like that, we really need a bit of a bulrb about the work too, so we can tell people what theyre bidding on! hype it up!!

lauer > cool man, would be great to have some MB.comers art to reprazent.

i just sent this letter to aruond sixty artists

hi guys...

I have specifically sent this email to all the artists who I admire, who I know live in or around melbourne.
The latest bushfires have devastated much of rural victoria, and its not letting up anytime soon.
A group pf people from the music scene im involved in are going to do a 24 hour benefit with all money going to charity, with a party, a raffle, a charity auction and other stuff. its going to be at miss libertines (new great venue in town) on march 3rd 2007.

The group organising this is based around the melbourne website www.melbournebeats.com.au which is a community of great people mostly into breaks and drum and bass, but with a lot of drive and enthusiasm, many are into the street art scene in melbs, and have been at MSF and exhibitions of many of yours..
Lynt, (karl) is one of the sites creators, and is part of niceproduce.com, so you may be approached from him as well, but they have asked me to put the call out to all you amazing street/stencil/character artists to hopefully get you to donate some artwork for the charity auction.

ALL money raised from this event will go to either the CFA for more equiptment or to a casue we all agree on.
there is a special forum for the fire aid benefit here >> http://melbournebeats.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=11

please go check it out.

im hoping each of you would donate one piece and then we would have an amazing auction and the ability to raise a few thousand dollars
to help the farmers who are already sufferring casue of the drought. (or more than one!)

you can call me at ********
or email me at this address to let me know if tyoud be up for donating something.
there is no limits to size, mediums or styles...
please give some of your talent, for the most relevant, in-your-own-backyard casue and come join in the party too!!

thanks for reading,

bo ghetto kitty.

Yes, but I'll do it in person when I get down on the weekend.

Good work re the letter, but there is one glaring typo:
ghetto kitty wrote:www.melbournebeats.com.au

NB: This should be melbournebeats.com.

Otherwise, all good! Nice work.

Hey guys,

I'll contribute a piece!!

I do crappy photography stuff, and I'm having an exhibition in February at Brunswick Street Gallery (http://www.brunswickstreetgallery.com.au/2007.html), so I'll actually be in town for a couple of weeks round then, and can pass something on to you.

If you wanna check out my trashy phtography, just go here:

Miss Libertine would like the art to be hanging in the venue before the event, approx' 2 weeks

Does this give you enough time to organise pieces and get them to the City?

Around about the 15th of Feb would be sweet

Hey guys...

Next couple'a weeks, huh? Slight problemo for me, as I won't be getting to Melbs till 30th Jan, and my exhibition's from 2nd Feb. to 15th Feb., but I can probably give you a piece on the afternoon of the 15th...?

Will be heading back to Tokyo on the morning of the 16th...

Is that too late? Or too much of a hassle?

I'm cool either way...

Best,
A.
