Thanks for hitting Off Beat

Post by universal sea »

Off Beat's taking a break to sit back and recollect. Good times ahead.

the original post in the original thread:

I'm pleased to announce that our Off Beat series of gatherings begins on a weekly basis, Thursdays at Horse Bazaar, starting this evening (January 10th). We'll be coming up with something backed by a tech, creative and video backdrop, every Thursday evening.

Off Beat presents downtempo, idm, ambient, instrumental hip-hop, space rock and whatever goes, recorded for UMFM.net radio. All the past sets can be found at www.umfm.net/radio/shows.php?show=Off+Beat+Radio

Hope to see you at Horse Bazaar. If you are interested in DJing, performing live, or contributing some how, drop me a line.

I'm down in the dumps, anybody who cheers me up will be a hero.

Off Beat - weekly Thursdays, 8pm-1am
Horse Bazaar - 397 Little Lonsdale, Melbourne. Between Elizabeth and Queen.

...seriously, I'm looking forward to this. Once I found out Rodriguez & Doobie Brothers qualified for Off Beat, I got even more excited.

Hope you made it home OK last night, my man. Big ups for helping me down a bottle of Tequilla yesterday and keeping my kids happy with playtime. Legend!

ok, we kick off this evening a little after 8pm. I will be playing several selections from idm/experimental indie act YORG, some of Mexico's finest space rock/electronica act Album, some 2SpacedOut, DelicaSession, Mum, and Higher Intelligence. Scattered amongst some hip-hop and ambient.

looking forward to it, see you soon.

I had a box of my stuff from canada arrive a few days ago, in it is some incredible vinyl from the now defunt Truth & Soul label that I've never had the chance to play. It's rare shit... plus some dnb from Autumn.. some wack shit i didnt get to play last week cause somehow i forgot my cds/records (first time ever)..

cammo and factory worker, i would hope you will grace the off beat decks again by the time summer is out. You played two of the best sets we've had so far.

The future of the music is acapella and beatboxing lephrenic. In a year you can simply hum your set through a microphone, and people can hum along.

Paranoid Edge makes his Off Beat debut this Thursday.

We have a movie meeting a little earlier, then excellent sounds from lephrenic, our special guest and a short blast from myself.
