Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, 22-year-old Hudson Mohawke has been making noise in his home-town for the past few years. With only a handful of released tracks (on Ubiquity, Rush Hour and Werk), incidental airplay and meager press coverage, Hudson's rise has been an organic process fueled by word of mouth – with fans discovering the music online or seeing him play. Recently Hudson signed to the world renowned Warp Records.

A teenage UK DMC and ITF champion, Hudson has been honing his craft as a part of internationally renowned production duo Heralds of Change, seminal Scottish Hip Hop group Surface Emp and as part of the LuckyMe
collective of dynamic, neo-beatmakers, also including Nadsroic, Mike Slott, Rustie, The Blessings and Jay P amongst others, aiming beyond the restrictions of genres defined by bpm range and creating a pastiche that embraces mainstream Rap and RnB, Techno, Soul, Electronica, Prog Rock and Folk to name a few. Hudson and fellow LuckyMe'ers also broadcast LuckyMe.fm, a radio show the first edition of which you can hear online at Samurai.fm now.

While support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Andrew Meza, Kode-9, Ed Banger's DJ Orgasmix, Sinden, The Cool Kids and even Goldie has cemented his reputation as a forward thinking producer, hard-to-find releases under the Heralds of Change and Surface Empire monikers have let people join the dots themselves, slowly creating a picture of a skilled hip-hop craftsman embracing the electronic age, turning it inside out, and shaking it down.

His career took an upwards turn in late 2007, with highlights including the Warp deal and attending the Red Bull Music Academy (collaborating with the likes of Slum Village & Theo Parrish). In recent months Hudson has played at a host of festivals accross europe including Sonar 2008, Dour Fest, NuMusic, Outlook, Connect and Circolo Magnolia aswell as select dj and live gigs in the uk and europe at renound venues like Londons Fabric, Plastic People, Cargo and Deviation club night, Amsterdam's world famous jazz venue Bimhuis and Frankfurts infamous Robert Johnson Club to name a few. Hudson recently recorded a guest slot for Mary Anne Hobbs Breezeblock show on BBC Radio 1 as well as having made appearances on Benji's B's Deviation show and Gilles Peterson's Worldwide in recent months.

April 2008 saw the release of the infamous OOPS 12 inch, the record merges Hudsons raw drum programming and future-proof synths with the glitz of mainstream rnb, already a classic in Glasgow before any plans for release and subsequently selling out within a week of hitting shelves. Next is the forthcoming Polyfolk Dance ep on Warp Records followed with an Album due for release very soon.

XLR8R magazine:
"..his small output has been enough to cause a major buzz, so don't be surprised if cats like Radiohead or Bloc Party start requesting his services shortly."

Dazed and Confused:

"Enter Hudson Mohawke, the genre-defying artist at the front of a new wave of experimental hip hop…"

Mamiko Motto
Having built her reputation as the producer of the Hepcat radio show, the first and last word in underground music, Mamiko Motto’s love of hip hop, jazz, techno, house and cosmic beats has won her devoted listeners all over the globe and lead her to play with some of the worlds finest DJs like Carl Craig, 4 Hero, Theo Parrish and Domu. In 2002 she joined forces with Pablo Valentino from Faces records, and started to organise parties in Antwerp and Brussels. During her recent sabbatical to London in 2006, She ran several club nights as part of the Other Worlds family, and started her radio show ‘didureally’ on Samurai FM. She looks after international promotions for the Kindred Spirits label, while also acting as head co-ordinator for online music hub Samurai FM. She also plays at and organises the monthly Rednose Distrikt club nights, as well as the Big Kisses parties with artist Lil’ Shy.
