Australians are renowned for looking after their mates, defending their turf and pulling together in times of need. Tragedy unites those from all walks of life... Old, young, black, white, metal head, drum n bass DJ...

This has been proven even more so since Black Saturday and no-one has been left untouched, directly or otherwise, by the news of the bushfires that have affected thousands of Victorians since that horrific day...

Out of the ashes of this tragedy have risen a group of music soldiers hell bent on producing an event so diverse yet so united in its entirety, that will prove that no matter what you are about, what music you listen to, what shoes you wear, that when you combine brilliant minds from all walks of life, you can create a collaboration so amazing, that nothing will stand in their way.

FIRE AID 2009 will consist of musicians and music lovers, guitar players and vinyl spinners unlike ever before. With VJ's, Dj's, bands and burlesque, nothing will be left to the imagination.

Our objective is to bring a day of entertainment raising funds for the Bush Fire Survivors surpassed by no-one and filled with our heart and soul.

With the determination of this small but mighty music army, we will rise above the tragedy as only Australians can and show the community that no matter what happens, united we stand!

So whether you love to raise the metal horns or dance to your house music du jour, FIRE AID 2009 will not disappoint and attempt to raise an amazing amount of money for those struck down by tragedy but revitalised by the Australian Spirit..

It's not about a rave in the end. It's about raising as much money as we can for the fire victims and by having bands we're covering a wider audience.

really great night....

went without a hitch... bands were lol... some mega-deth covers I heard were awesome. All the DJs were great, I was thinking that the wide variety of styles may have made it a bit disjointed, but is was smooth as and the place had a great vibe.

wasn't a huge amount of people there unfortunately. Most of the walk-ins became walk-outs because of the price.

will report donation amount soon.

Well done again to all involved.

Sweet tunes throughout the night. Dopamine into Bonnici was mental. Props to the crazy side-room drummer for giving 110%!

As Dan said not a huge crowd, but lots of smiles. Roxanne is a massive venue, and it definitely would have looked busier if people not spread across 3 rooms/smoking area/waiting for bloody lift...

There has been a huge amount of fundraising/donating already for the fire relief, so any extra squeezed out is a bonus.

Needless to say, Sunday work was incredibly painful...
