Okay, the latest is in...
The once sleepy little town of Barwon Heads will play host for the debut of the Subconscious: A headfirst dive into the low frequent seas of Dubstep, Glitch and Drum & Bass.
Right at the mouth of the Barwon River, you can nod heads to the lapping of two types of waves
For the first installment we have a main arena of worldy proportions with the talents of MC LowQui (UK), DJ Deadlock (UK), DJ Keir, Droid Sector and Flippo.
There will also be a sound system installed in the beer garden for the first half of the night with some glitchy bass treats and psychedelic beats. Some are calling it glitch... others are calling it hippy-hop... ...translation: ear-prickling goodness. Will post more lineup details in the next week or so.
The poster says we start at 9:00, but it's actually 9:30. If you get in in the first 1/2 hour, it's half price - $5.
Pretty good deal for the coast when you consider the pub has been charging as much as $20 a head on a thursday for one good Australian band with a support act...
ANYWAY! Being the day before valentines day, this could be a great chance for all the wolves out there to bring thier cute little rabbits down for a romantic weekend with a subsonic twist. I'm heading down to the area today, so I'll suss-out the two caravan parks next to the pub and see if there's any vacancies. Both parks are a short walk from the pub.
Alternatively, there MIGHT be an opportunity to camp for free in a private location a small taxi ride from the pub. This place is a short walk through the sand dunes to the beach. There is enough space for about five or six groups of friends. I have already cleared this up, but we do have limited space, so please PM me for more details.
This pub tends to get rowdy over summer for even average gigs. The summer beach crowd love to party, and we like the idea of showing them how it's done properly in the face of bass.

After getting back from having my teapot Tippered-out at the Serpent, I am glad to announce that riverside beats are going ahead, despite some last minute hiccups.
