only on designated streets iirc, they definitely did it on smith, as well as enforced clearing the corner where the anz was.

i guess if its during the day and its not too loud, locals wouldn't complain cos they prob wouldn't be home anyway. probably just the evening and beyond that's risky

sure. the local law doesn't discriminate, but if there isn't a complaint, no need to enforce.

however, the whole local law was introduced by people not really respecting the nighttime thing, nor keeping it to a reasonable level, mostly in that park. so i imagine the locals would be a bit touchy

I did some xmas parties in 2002-3 (or 2003-4 i cant remember) and remember there being a few upset people when the speakers were pointing the wrong way or it went too late

We had Greg from the City of Yarra Council at the first one we did. We told him when we were finishing up which was 7-7:30pm, he did a quick perimeter test, he asked us to turn the sub down a touch, then said he'd ring us if there were any complaints and that was that. He was really helpful and down for the cause.

First party definitely couldn't be heard outside the park!

There was another system closer to St Georges Rd with much more volume. Couldn't even hear your bad selves until got halfway in. Also pointing south (toward city) was a good idea as no houses that way...

Tuesday post-Rainbow bass-fest would be killer! DO EEET!
