TREI "Commercial Suicide, Samurai Music, Critical, Uprising Recordings"

With a passport full of stamps, scorching hot exclusive selections and the technical skills to match, TREi is one of the leading lights of the New Zealand drum and bass scene. Internationally known as both a producer and a DJ, over the last seven years, TREi has made his mark, both at home and abroad, particularly across Europe, where after no less than 6 successful tours, he is fast becoming a favourite for those who know.
Based in Wellington, New Zealand, TREi's seamless mixing and anthemic productions have seen him linked to some of the finest d&b record labels, club nights, DJ's and producers on the planet. With the likes of Samurai Music, Commercial Suicide, Shogun Ltd, Uprising Recordings, Concord Dawn, Andy C, Klute, Friction and Black Sun Empire in the mix, in 2011, his presence is impossible to ignore.
With his musical roots lying in guitar, TREi recently dusted off the six-string to play as part of fellow New Zealand d&b icon's The Upbeats live show. Inspired by this new platform and his experiences performing internationally, TREi is on the verge of elevating into an exciting new creative echelon.
Current projects include collaborations with The Upbeats, Concord Dawn, Dose, Chris SU, Jade and Mindscape as well as emerging talent Johnny Hooves. In tandem, TREi is also finalizing releases on Viper Recordings, Uprising Records, Obsessions Music as well as working towards his second album for release in early 2012.
Focused on making nightclub ceilings drip with sweat; and writing the tunes that we all party to, TREi is laser-etching himself into the history books; and future proofing drum and bass in the process. Hold tight.

SAFIRE "Dispatch Recordings, Resolute"

Safire has been steadily moving from strength to strength over the last 18 months. The Melbourne based producer has been making music for the last seven years or so and also co-running the long standing Broken Beat Assault. Which has been touring international artists and putting on quality parties in Melbourne for about five years now. Since his first releases in 2008 - Dream Carrier / Shadows (Climate) and Heatstroke with Mindscape (Resolute), Safire has continued to rise. He has collaborated with a number of well-known producers, including Octane & DLR, Ant TC1, Cern, and Dabs. His deep, techy tunes have been gaining well-deserved recognition across the dnb landscape, evident in his recent string of releases on Ant TC1's much respected Dispatch Recordings. His collaboration with Octane & DLR, Peel Street, featured on the Dispatch #50 release at the end of 2011 and he has an upcoming collaboration with Borderline on Dispatch, as well as a number of other drum & bass releases slated for the next few months. Add to this his forays into the 140 BPM world (notably a collab with 3RDEYE, Embryonics, on Requiem Audio), and you have the picture of a well rounded, versatile and extremely skilled producer. Safire has a couple of shows lined up in Europe in the July to October period, and has proved himself as one to keep a close eye on in 2012. (Kmag.co.uk)
