STATE OF MIND

Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, State of Mind are the duo of Stu Maxwell and Patrick Hawkins. Beginning their careers in 2005 SOM have become notoriously prolific producers with releases on a broad spectrum of labels throughout the dnb scene. Material can be found on the shelves via CIA Recordings, Teebee’s Subtitles Records, Friction’s Shogun Audio, Viper Recordings, Doc Scott’s 31 Records, Concord Dawn’s Uprising, Bad Company, BSE & Obsessions, Project 51, Samurai and more.

Not happy being mere producers and djs, SOM Music was launched in 2009 and is now regarded as a premier niche label in its own right. SOM Music is home to artists like Nymfo, Black Sun Empire, Spinline, Jade, Mindscape, Dose, Borderline and Tiki Taane to name a few.

State of Mind released their first full CD ‘Take Control’ on Uprising Records in 2006, an album that garnered them the publicly voted award of ‘Breakthrough Artists of the year’ on the B-Net radio network in NZ, and a nomination for a prestigious NZ Music Award. In March 2009 they released their second LP, ‘Faster than Light’ on their own label SOM Music.

Their third album called ‘Nil By Ear’ was globally released in April 2011, peaking at number 5 in the NZ Charts. This was also nominated for a NZ Music Award.

State Of Mind are the former hosts of the hugely popular ‘Next Level” 95BFM drum n bass show. The show has now been relaunched in monthly podcast format due to popular demand.

TREI

With a passport full of stamps, scorching hot exclusive selections and the technical skills to match, TREi is one of the leading lights of the New Zealand drum and bass scene. Internationally known as both a producer and a DJ, over the last seven years, TREi has made his mark at home and abroad, particularly across Europe where after no less than 8 successful tours encompassing 22 countries, he is fast becoming a staple in the global Drum and Bass scene.

Based in Wellington, New Zealand, TREi’s infectious mixing and anthemic productions have seen him linked to some of the finest Drum and Bass record labels, club nights, DJ’s and producers on the planet. With releases on the likes of Viper Recordings, Commercial Suicide, Shogun Ltd, Samurai Music, Uprising Recordings; and gaining regular support from such luminaries as Concord Dawn, Andy C, Klute, Friction and Black Sun Empire to name afew; in 2013 his presence is impossible to ignore.

March 2013 see’s the release of his much anticipated second album; “Satellites” on State of Minds’ SOM Music. Packed with hard hitting beats, progressive rollers, and proven dancefloor smashers including “Change your Mind” (with Thomas Oliver) and Homecoming (with MC Tali). Continuing on from where 2009’s highly acclaimed debut “Innuendo” left off; “Satellites” is set to propel TREi even further into the musical stratosphere, future proofing Drum and Bass in the process. Hold tight; things are about to go interstellar!

DOSE

DOSE, Is a New Zealand born and bred artist boasting around 55 Drum & Bass releases internationally and having performed across NZ, Australia, Europe and UK for such nights as Ram @ Fabric and Shogun @ Cable in London. His brand of tech-stepping, full-force drum & bass has been turning heads since around 2006 when the likes of Mr. Friction first began championing his sound and since then its been a relentless progression.

Building on his already extremely successful & fruitful discography, 2012/13 sees Dose sign exclusively to SGN:LTD of the Shogun family. Label owner DJ Friction who after some close collaboration with fellow Shogun boss K-Tee decided to invite Dose to become part of the close knit crew that makes up the movement.

With a slew of releases across labels such as Renegade Hardware, Commercial Suicide, Subtitles and more, Dose’s beats have featured frequently throughout the years in the sets of Noisia, Dieselboy, Pendulum, Andy C and of course Friction. With various forthcoming releases scheduled with SGN:LTD & more leading towards his debut album in 2013 you can be sure to hear his fierce antipodean beats rolling out of a sound system near you very soon and believe us with forthcoming tracks as good as his, an over-Dose has never sounded so tempting.
