this website and forum is home to talented individuals. please help us by helping guide the redesign of the website and forums.

my initial thoughts are to work with the basic structure of the forum (i.e. navigation elements, and logo), beyond that be as creative as you like!

please submit your design proposals in this thread. keep the replies on point and on topic.

I only have one internetz skill and that's making custom emoticons. Consider it volunteered.

Don't say I never get you anything Image

Would you be changing the mobile site as well?

I've got a couple ideas.

darker colour sheme, something quite muted and soft on the eyes.

the standard BB style is quite easy on the eyes but a bit dull.

perhaps a visual theme above and beyond the logo and colours would be interesting? a motif of some sort, be it a pattern or texture.

I think the music forum should be separate from events personally.

it'll be themed to match/reflect the main website.

sounds good, look forward to seeing a mockup when you have time.

there's a project happening to have events appear via a calendar style module. they'll be linked to forum topics, but will be accessible via the calendar, so that should fulfill both ideas really.

Wasn't entirely joking about emoticons - custom sets (eg. ITM) can definitely give a site character.

I'll see what YI comes up with wrt colour scheme and see what I can do from there. For now, I'll content myself with making the ones we are inexplicably missing: of all the pages upon pages, there's still nothing that conveys :O

*quietly slips them off her cv*

(I'm sure you meant the general package and not specifics though...)

I got some spare time today and decided i'd try making a new logo for mb.c
Not sure if this is what people want but i think re-branding is a great idea and changing of colour schemes for sure.
So here's an idea i came up with today and a few colour ideas. Looks quite Melbourne i think.

Cheers mate! I'm a fan of the green but that's my favourite colour so that's probably why.
Beat session this week for sure!

Anyone else got an opinion on the above ideas?

i really like the blue and green version.

would you be able to make a stacked version and maybe a smaller one - i.e. just "mb.c" with the flourishes? :)

System perhaps turn the logo thing into some kind of competition? Andy's work is AWESOME but I'm sure there are other posters who would be willing to throw up ideas.

Im not even sure if most of them are aware this forum exists yet.

I've already done an mb.c one and a stacked version. Will post later. Also messed round with a logo for Melbourne beats radio. Think the narrower M works alright. Will have a proper look when I get home.

This thread seems to have died and there hasn't been much feedback. Wondering if people are taking any notice.

I have a suggestion.

If anyone else is going to submit logo designs, how about we change the logo on the site for a day/week at a time for each different design and then people will definitely notice it. We can then have a poll so people can vote for the one they like best.

Also i was messin round with a bit of a mockup melbournebeats page with background and logo..
