my friend works for http://www.earthsharing.org.au

and they are running a competition to draw attention to the 'rental crisis' im melbouren which also seems to be more of a beat up than we'd like to think

Is the rental market ripping you off?
Is most of your wage going to rent?
Cant afford a beer anymore?
Sick of eating 2-minute noodles?

If so create a 3 minute or less film about the current housing crisis.

We want to see films of all genres and styles.

Be creative. Go on lash out.

The winner will receive a $3000 cash prize

Watch out, we’re going to start blogging on these issues regularly, so send us stuff that fires you up.

Been looking for a place to live by myself for a month or so....So far no luck what so ever. Been damn tricky!! Also i'm kinda unsure about being black listed. I left a property after the 1st year was up and the leaase wasnt renued. only gave them like 4 weeks notice too, but not in writing.

Yah who knows...ive heard some company got done a while ago for incorrectly listing people. Mostly being paranoid in all honesty.

I should give a crack. would be a bit of a laugh going to inspections with a video camera. maybe i can hide it in a novelty hat.

So I'm on the hunt again. But the lack of 4 bdroom houses inner city/fringe isn't looking good at the moment (I'm moving with my mum & two brothers, yes back with the family, but only because I want to save up for my travels next year). I have two months...I am not going to give the cunts satisfaction of paying the rent increase especially the fact that they didn't hardly wait until the lease ended in August! Plus I know it's all about this bullshit interest rates blah blah blah, but this house is completely old and it not worth the price! Theycangetfuckedcuntspissoffbye!

Oh as you were Blaxter and nic.

otherwise they still win, coz the rental market as it is will allow them to get new tenants in at the increased price.... any new place you look at will be more exxy at the moment too.

I've got some links and info on how to do this... too busy to post now, check the vic tenants union website though

I'm on the hunt for a flattie in the city. I'm going to be lazy and cut and paste the epic facebook spam message i sent out the other day

Faced with Sam's sad departure back home to focus on his studies of some incredibly hardcore finance qualification (and to enjoy playing his bagpipes without the ensuing threats of violence) I am faced with the search for a flatmate of equal (or greater) radness.

Big room, with its own balcony, in a big city apartment, with another big balcony attached to the (big) lounge room . All the good stuff like a dishwasher, washer and dryer, fast internet. Epic book collection to peruse (no spine benders or corner of page folders please). Pretty much fully furnished, apart from the room for rent. Lots of art on the walls, everyone who comes over seems to say "nice place". Located near the corner of queen and little lonsdale sts, easy stumbling distance from pretty much anywhere you might like to have a drink in the city, horse bazaar located across the road for more convenient drinks.

$800 pcm plus bills (net, phone, electricity - about 90ish a month)

Sam's moving out start of October. If anyone is looking for a short term, 3 -4 months kinda deal, my little bro is moving back from Canada for a bit end of January, and there has been some discussions of him moving in here.

That being said I realise that I am more likely to find someone more permanent, which I would be totally happy with.

Feel free to hand out my email to anyone you know who you think I'd get along with - taylem at gmail.com

Nice plan, gnat. I remember having a similar one a while ago. Though it will probably take me another 10-15 years to get to the coast.

i reckon that'll will go for about $450-470 quick.

decent location - 6-7k from city ... nice exterior ... pretty standard inside but there'll be enough demand around it to push it to mid 400's from the first homey couples

Hey peeps,

Looking to share the place I'm renting at the moment.

The house is in Glen Iris right near the train and tram, and the room is a large room in the front of the house with large clothes cupboard for $200pw.

The house has a large lounge / dining area with big screen TV and surround sound entertainment system, big bathroom with large shower and single person spa bath, excellent outdoor entertaining area with BBQ, modern kitchen with dishwasher and laundry with washer / dryer.

The deal is I used to live in the granny flat out the back, but then the owner moved to Perth so I moved into the house and am looking after all his stuff until he moves back or settles interstate permanently.

Looking for someone relatively quiet and responsible.

PM me if you're interested...
