The rome vinyl above is my jibbing board. Got it this season at whistler. Bit softer than I am used to (I used to ride boy's boards cos they are more agressive).
My mate Al in this pic is holding my half-pipe board... the one that looks like the rabbit from donnie darko. Love this board to death but it has done too many seasons and needs a base-grind. BEST board in the pipe but too stiff for me to do much else with... not strong enough to nose-press it for long.
Also have a nitro fate and stole a kid's board from the place I was working at in the states that I have to set up one day.
I'll post a pic after wthis w-end. Jacket and pants are white with blue/grey antler-patterned cammo (NFA Travis Parker limited edition 04/05). White home-made beanie. Sennies. White 32 boots covered in diamonds (erk), white rome bindings.
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

Not. Bloody. Likely.
Had a friend who tried to wave at his dad from the US via web cam at a resort.
Failed and he wasted a really good evening of drinking standing waving at nothing while drunk people took the piss out of him.

You know it. Edit... that was in response to BrB. Polecat...I'd say it is Obsessive Compulsive rather than hardcore. Runs in my family. My brother plays piano for 5 hours a day and gets depressed when he can't.breaksRbest wrote:Smashed my car on the way to Falls last year and didn't end up making it.
I was more pissed off about no boarding than I was about the car
Heading to Falls the first weekend of August.
I'm even missing my lil Sis' 21st Birthday so I can go
I'll be there for 2 weeks. You guys will be getting the royal treatment... I'm going to get boards and stuff off my mates.

I've just realised that I know how J-Gal feels when she posts on the kicks thread.
The Krew.
I'm in this pic, but luckily the res is so low I don't think anyone will find me

ok. I shut up now.
At the snow in a few hours.
You would forgive a junkie for being excited about their next hit.
think about it that way and I'll STFU.

I had a lift and accomodation offered to me this w-end @ falls.
Mayhaps I should go. My board and boots are there. Hmmmm.

In other news...
I am taking some annual leave July/August for terrain park fun party at falls. Anyone who is up there will risk getting a lesson from me cos I was offered my old job as an instructor for 2hrs a day in return for free lift tickets (and crap pay).
You have been warned.
hungover as a dog. Check.
throwing up from the chairlift in uniform. Check.
having to dress as Pete the Dragon and being kicked by kids where my nuts would be if I was a boy. Check.
Good times. Good times.
ADD... season goes from Queens' bday long w-end to 4th Oct 9if we still have snow).

Ok so instead of going up and calling in sick to work, i found some friends who were going up for a day trip yesterday to Hotham, so shared a ride with them.
Snow was very low, not far above Harrietville there was already snow settled on the ground. Up top of the mountain there was heaps of fresh stuff making the prospects of the coming day very exciting!
So after seeing all the fresh stuff we had a couple of warm up runs then headed to the Orchard chair to hike for some fresh lines. Lead by some guy who i had only just met we made it over to the Orchard and began to hike a little. The conditions were close to white out and since the fires had prob been through, i think our leader may have gotten a little lost as we took a chute down into the Valley which abrubtly came to an end with a bunch of thick trees closing out the run.
It was then we realised we were lost! we had the choice of heading back where we came to the ridge where condition were close to white out, or we could traverse over skiers right back to where the run should be. Anyway after much "debate" we decided to traverse, but after about 4 gullys, 3 hours with no sign of runs, trunching through waist deep powder we came across Spargos Hut. I used to cross country ski around Hotham as a youth so i had a vague idea where we were, we made a few phone calls to alert some people if we didnt make it back what area and direction we were taking.
So wet, tired and angry we headed off to where i though the Heavenly Valley chair would be. On our boards we Managed to floating leaf down through the trees but still couldn't see any signs of lifts. It was now 4 o'clock and snowing heavely and i was beginning to get really concerned. One more Gully over and we could hear a lift and a snow mobile. Then a break in the weather and we spotted the chair! So we just made it to the chair for the final lift of the day!
Lesson Learned, dont trust anyones directions in a whiteout, even if they claim to know the mountain back to front!
Im so fucking sore today and i paid $90 for about 4 rides of a chairlift!

Be careful with the pump system and the BOA system. My mates have had the wire snap and the air-bladders burst. I think that DC have tweaked the BOA problem now, but the air bladders still tend to pop if you land too hard.
