Holy shit. I can see my apartment window and front door Farq look at the people glad I wasn't spewing in the lobby after an all-nighter or smoking crack in the alley.

if it's a street then most people could walk/drive down it and see what's to be seen anyways :? meh, I kind of understand the concern, but I reckon the privacy lobbying over this has gone a bit too far. Mountain out of a molehill.

however, this guy probably doesn't like it....

don't agree. maybe yeh in this instance its likely to be harmless. but there needs to be careful consideration of the precedent that this sets, and IMO it sets a very dangerous one.

its probably no different to paparazzi taking photos of celebs, in that celebs have no ways of stopping the papparazzi.

However i do think that there is a difference betwen public and private citizens, often public citizens make that choice and need to wear the good and the bad that goes with that.

I don't like the concept of images of private citizens available to anybody who cares to look when these same private citizens have not given their express consent.

Under the privacy act it is an offence to give out personal information about an indvidual without their consent. I suppose it comes down to what we would define as personal information. a photo of somebody, probably not. where somebody was on a given day at a given time, hmmmm maybe. I reckon it starts to get reaaaal fuzzy.

this sounds a bit similar to Copyright Law (as it pertains to Photos)

i.e, I can take a photo of a crowded Bourke St and then use it for a billboard advertising Coke (as long as it's not what's called a Sensitive Subject) without teh consent of everyone in the photo (unless teh Photographer has asked you to pose for the shot)

similar can o worms imo

^^^ lol I saw that too... I was perving on ya joint lol

they do blur faces and number plates...

funny coz it's an automatic thing and sometimes you'll just see this blurry tree for no apparent reason. Some people have also missed the blurring.

I'm trying to pick which times the pics were done...

most of the city was done around October last year I'd say. You can tell by the gig posters.

also, from kensington you can't see the observation wheel... but you can from the docklands... kenso was photographed first imo

Oh...this is Ace of Base!!

I am doing eco risk for a project based in Qld... just looked up the site. No guessing as to whether it is Acacia open forests/mixed tall open shrubland/grassy sparse tussock grassland/Acacia open forests/mixed open shrubland
Mixed low closed forests/mixed low woodlands.... it is there for me to look at. Can't determine individual species, but can certainly identify to biome level w00000ties!!

Not to be contrary... oh okay, I'm being contrary :) (hey it's a forum), but how is it different to me walking around the streets and taking photos looking into people's windows? I'm on public property, right? As long as I don't use the images for commercial gain, I don't see how anyone can really say I'm doing anything illegal. Morally, I can see how you'd call it an invasion of privacy, but according to the law, am I doing anything wrong? Isn't it your responsibility to ensure your personal information isn't available on public property? I certainly shred all my mail that contains personal info before throwing it out...

I agree A1, heaps of peeps on this board have posted pics of people in the street without their knowledge or consent.

I guess it's the shear scope of this that freaks people out.

Same argument comes up in street photography circles all the time.

Is it morally right to take a photo of someone and publish it, regardless of it's legality?

Everyone enjoys looking at the images, but when they wind up in a photo, it's a whole other situation. Are those who disapprove, moral enough to not view others?
