ENGLAND WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 71 RUNS!

This is the first time since January 1993 that Australia have been beaten by an innings at home, and the first time since December 1986 that England have a) beaten Australia by an innings anywhere and b) won a live Ashes Tests in Australia. Wonderful stuff.

Good win for the Aussies, well played. Hope England can rediscover their form for Melbourne. At least we have a decent contest on our hands :)

Ponting you absolute fuckwit

Arguing the point with an umpire is the mark of a shit bloke. And allowing Siddle to chime in too? Piss poor. I've generally been a supporter of his, but now the pressure's well and truly gotten to him and it's time to go

If I had a son keen on cricket and we were watching that I'd be ashamed. After seeing Ponting sook to the umpire like a girly man I actually kind of wanted Pietersen to go on with it and score a ton

Bill Bailey's twitter is cracking me up today...
Well done England - fantastic beating the Aussies on their own patch. Not that we're ones to gloat
Let's not mention the Ashes and the 3 innings defeats. It would be unseemly to mention the 3 innings defeats, in the Ashes, 3 - 1
I was just saying it would be rather unsporting to mention the 3 innings defeats, the 3-1 coating, the 3-1 total mullering, that's not on
Let's hear no more about the total tonking we dished out, the 3-1 spatchcocking, that would be ungracious
It's beneath us to keep mentioning the 3-1 twazzocking, the brass-handled panel-beating we doled out, well done Au3tra1ia
hey, Au3tra1ia it's not the winning, it's the taking part and you very nearly did. There was some lovely groundskeeping.
good lord it's Ricky Ponting at the door with my pizza - he's dealt with this delivery splendidly
oh no, Ponting's dropped it, he's dropped the pizza
I've just asked Shane Watson if I could borrow a cup of sugar, but he's run out
