Seems as though their main argument in pushing for mandatory helmet laws to be lifted is that bike share schemes are failing. Gimme a break. Oh and apparently the health gains from cycling far outweigh the risks of riding without a helmet? How in the total fuck does one quantify that?

I put it to these morons that yes, they should have the right to choose. Then, if they end up in a public hospital with massive head trauma, a physician should have the right to choose whether or not they receive treatment based on whether or not a helmet was worn.

Just bought one of these



Need a commuter and got sick of looking for a second hand steel frame in my size in decent condition. The one I had which I thought was perfect ended up being too big

As per standard when it comes to anything cycling, went way over budget, and will now be living off Mi Goreng for the next few months lol

Gonna build it up with a SRAM Apex group and the Mavic wheels that came stock with my other bike. Might employ locking skewers and some loctite under the seat to make it a bit more scumbag proof. Will post a pic when it's finished

Also have you got a hook up for SRAM stuff? Pretty sure my LBS guys can do me a pretty competitive price on an Apex group, but shopping around couldn't hurt

Hey guys

I've got an average single-speed commuter, but it doesn't ride that well and the gear it is in makes it tough to go up hills (I'm pretty unfit too). I'm going to start riding to work, about 10ks each way, so I'm wondering whether to buy a second bike, more of a road bike with gears so I can use the commuter when I go to the pub or get wasted and have to leave my bike somewhere overnight (it's fine, got a decent lock and the bike has a shitty paint job), or whether I should just sell my current bike and try and find something good enough to ride a decent distance and up a few hills to work with AND a commuter...?

Hope that makes sense. I'd prefer just one bike to save room at my sharehouse, but I'd be worried about leaving a good bike outside pubs and stuff.

Any advice?

Someone prudent would prob just piss the first bike off and buy an all rounder that can handle whatever sort of stuff you need it for

Having said that, I just built a commuter coz I still wanted to keep my mad racer but was sick of locking it up everywhere and having to wear bike shoes all the time

Suffice to say the build got out of hand and I ended up with a bike that's essentially as good (if not a bit heavier than) my racer

I am now broke as fuck

Nah, it's helpful. Thanks. Prudency isn't my strong point, so I should listen since I don't have that much cash, either...

What would you consider to be a good all-rounder that is good but not so good that it will disappear in 10 minutes. Should I get one new or secondhand? Obv I'd get a proper kryptonite u-lock and not leave it out overnight like I have done before.

If anyone wants to sell one like this, lemme know. Gotta have gears though
