Srava FTMFW!

I just wish it wasn't so dark and scary for pre-work riding.... danger-zone 8000.

Got myself a Chrome Ivan. Haha, it's massive! Gonna take some getting used to, but certainly built like a tank and I reckon will outlive me.

lol horses for courses

Riding 40kms on a flat road in a bunch rolling turns.....fuck that! :teef:

Seriously though, Melburn Roobaix is fun as. Massive meet up in fed square, all sorts of bikes from bling to old school to totally whack, crazy kits and costumes, scavenger hunt style ride punctuated with hilarious cobbled sectors, bbq/coffee/raffle/japes at Harrison St velodrome, good mates, beers etc

Best day out on a bike. I'm out this year due to injury, but would highly recommend

Those Rapha videos always make me so jealous and depressed that I'm not out riding, especially when I'm injured and my bike is brokened

Mate just bought a new cross bike and has been hitting the hills and trails, smashed out Donna Buang and Mt Macedon recently

Just upgraded my MTB a few weeks ago. 2011 Trek Fuel EX9. Have been riding a hardtail for the last two years. After racing up at Mt Buller for 3 days at the Bike Buller Festival in March, I decided it was def time for un upgrade to dual suspension bike.

Absolutely loving the new Trek. I'm riding so much faster and more confidently now.

nice.
does it climb better than ur old hardtail?

Re: bikes

Climbs pretty bloody well, prob better on the rougher stuff. The Fox RP23 rear shock has 3 diff damping settings which works really well and is easy to flick over as you ride.

heheh, Buller will do that. I remember cartwheeling over the handlebars at Buller after a misjudged drop off at about 50km/hr and thinking exactly the same thing, just before I hit the ground and used my face as a brake pad. After that I couldn't remember what I had been thinking.

I survived the long weekend with only 1 crash fortunately. But god damn, the climbs killed me. Wasn't the fittest at the time as had been out of action for 2 months with a broken rib.

Any other MTBrs on here? I've become obsessed with it in the last couple of years.

I am finally thinking of getting a biek here. Mebbe one of these. No point having gears here (dead flat) and I don't want a slinky, uncomfortable road bike. I'm just going to be using it to get places not very far away, mebbe go for a bit of a ride on a nice day.

My highly scientific process is to buy from the bike shop who aren't cunts and this is what they showed me. Any thoughts about this bike/brand? Anything else along these lines I should look at?

looks fine for riding around on!
might be a bit heavy but thats not really a problem

dunno how i could live getting round without a bike tbh

Yeah, I'm okay with the weight/comfort trade-off. It'll still be lighter than my old mtb!

I currently walk most places, or public transport is pretty good here (24 hour ftw!). The weather makes me not very excited about building a bike into my commute, but it'd be nice to have a run-about for summer.

if anyone here wants a good cheap track frame, im going to be selling some of ours for super cheap soon. like $250 for frame and fork. black, white, green and blue, 53, 55, 58cm

also, i have lots of dia compe tech 99 and dirty harry left hand brake levers. these are fine for a rear brake, or a front brake on the left (i do this and it takes about 3seconds to get used to) or you can turn em upside down and use on the right. will be going for about $15 probs. won't see that price anywhere online! :P

lots of rear dia compe BRS100 callipers too. cheap cheap.

track grips, bmx (oury style) grips, riser bars, bull horns, flat bars, brake cable, chains.

just ask me

gutted i'm skint atm, have wondered before if you sell frames by themselves

will prob hit you up for a 55cm at some point when i've got a bit of coin to whack a track bike together

do they all have that nice little mule headbadge on them? they look awes

also how's the merckx going? taken it for a spin yet?

Re: bikes

yeah man, all with the badge! :) usually sell the frameset for $400, just need to make a bit more room for more frames! hah.

i got just the headset and cranks and front derailleur to go for the merckx then i'll build it up. i made it harder for myself as i wanted to go 6 speed huhu. anyway, many millions of dollars later it will be awesome.
