Ugh, every year, I forget how distracting it is waiting to hear back about jobs. Unfortunately, there's no set dates, so I could hear any time between now and June :tard:. It makes things a bit difficult to plan - I'd kinda like to know where I'll be moving!

More gripes:
* From 24ºC yesterday, we are now forecast for a blizzard tomorrow night :?
* Shitcunt mates - stood up twice today.
* The ad for my perfect job was pulled :(. Weird budget issues. I hope it comes back!
* Totally lacking motivation right now.

GK - that sucks, that is no small fry change. i hope you find it

re air-con - refridgerated air con is way better for Melbourne heat and humidity.

i got one similar to this from these guys (deals direct), and it has been great - http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/highlan ... nditioner/

although if you can get one of the box ones that sit in your window, they are amazing!

Refrigerated air con is the go for QLD where its always humid. Evap is good for Melb as we have mostly dry heat, yep you do get a few humid days when rain comes but on a whole Evap is the way to go in Melb's imo.

We just got a full system installed for under $3k and its the ducks nuts. Alwys about 23c in our house and always feels like there is a seabreeze. Also evap only works if you have doors/windows open a bit as it works on recirculating air.

Portable air cons i dont have much experince with.

ya reckon? evap air is better for Perth that has dry heat, Melb has too many humid days to really make it work. Almost every hot day we have had has been humid, we also had 100% humidity for over a week in January. Especially portable evap coolers cannot handle any moisture in the air.

Before air con. we tried putting a large wet muslin cloth or thin sheet, over the rails of the cot, and a fan blowing on this. its a reasonble stopgap if you don't have room cooling

gripe to crazy neighbours. My schizophrenic neighbour two doors down yelled and screamed at the sky for a good 4 hours last night. i am fairly deaf so have the tele up loud and he was louder than that

wish i could put a note in his letterbox saying - take your meds!

probably not a good idea with a schizophrenic to leave random notes though huh

Another snow storm on the way :?. Wouldn't be so bad if they believed in plows here, but they don't and the roads are a deathtrap. If this fucks with my weekend away, I shall not be a happy camper :x

No word back from any jobs, including the ones I had phone interviews with (which I thought went well?) Sitting and waiting passively to hear what I'm meant to do with my life after May can git tae fuck.

Also, double post gripe. Apparently, I'm the only whingey motherfucker out. So to balance out the plur in the BU thread, I'm pretty sure this year is cursed for me already. Employment prospects: nil. Personal life: nil. Hard work: still not paying off. Faith in the world/system: nil. Winrar :tard:

Thanks Liz. I'm just having a whinge. Hopefully things will settle down a bit once job stuff gets a bit clearer. I always forget how shit the 3+ months of waiting are!

Hobbies are a bit thin on the ground, I'm afraid. FS, I tried to get back into wing chun last year, but it's an hour and a half drive away :(. I could take up another style locally (MMA?) but I'm terrified of finding one of my students there! Do NOT want to be in vigorous physical contact with a student!!!

Once the weather clears a bit I can get back out running again :)

Maybe have a good scout around, there might be something closer to wing chun than MMA... (or maybe more internal focused than sparring) and if it is regular you should hopefully be able to find a training night that doesn't have a student at it!

Such a good thing for centering yourself really - you could mix it up with qi gong which doesn't have contact...

maybe look for ba gua, or xingyi?

Ah, but I really like to hit things :smt003. I was considering escrima, but I think that place closed.

I don't think there is much in the way of the more spiritual side - it's a redneck college town, where army and frat boys like to beat the shit out of things. Karate and TKD seem to be the go around here :?

I haven't looked for a while, though, so will check out the lay of the land again.

gripe to the IT systems here at work. no large attachments get through email, so i constantly have to ask them to be released. This has been an issue with the exhibition, as everyone sends through the files to me here at work. I then have to keep fighting with IT to get emails released. Well give me gmail access at work and we won't have this issue bah!

also new system they are running everything off is slow and stupid.

yeah looks like i can.

personally i would rather just be able to get access to gmail at work. pisses me off no end when companies say - no personal emails at work! When we all know bosses get them as well (i see all my bosses emails and i know they all get personal stuff), and it would cause less drama for all if they just let everyone have gmail and hotmail access, even if its just for a limited time a day.

you wouldnt believe the issues that are caused by large attachments being sent around via email.

but yes, blocking webmail is stupid as. i guess legal and accounting might have decent reasons. i wouldnt tho it just pisses people off.
