I'm gonna take a stand.
I'm gonna take a stand against him.
I am not gonna sit on my ass, as the events that effect me unfold to determine the course of my life...I'm gonna take a stand.

Man, if I'd won Oz Lotto last night, that house would be mine in a heartbeat. Sexy dwellings.

How on earth did you find it D?

After the movie came out a mate and I went backpacking in the US. We were trying to do it "on the road" Jack Kerouac styles, but we had a few other things we wanted to accomplish. One of which was find as many locations from that movie as possible.

It was really hard finding that house, back then there was no google earth, so we had to bribe a CIA troopman to sell us satelittle photos of the country. We wern't even sure which state it was in. So we drank moonshine for like 6 months straight and used magnifiying glasses to study the satelitte images until we found about 6 possible houses that could be 'the one'.

As both being students of geography and architecture, this was a big deal to us, plus we had paid like 500,000US to the troopman to get the images, so we were pretty determined.

So off we went, like shuttle shuttle, over night, roadtrain, pighoarten, get down and blam! jazz man it was like jazz, and location after location UNTIL, that fateful night the pillars did rise from the earth - we found it. Jazz man, JAZZ! moonshine and jazz.

Sooooo, then we took it upon ourselves to contact every estate agent in the region and put us on notice if the house ever came up for sale. This was a bit of an ask, and knowing the staff turn over of estate agents in the region was high, but studying the employment data from the censor the year before we figured we better call once a year to maintain the relationships... major hassel with out moonshine, but we were determined.

That whole process became a lot easier with the rise of the interwebness and online real estate agents. I would just search every real estate site based in America once a week for the address, until I was searching last week and... JAZZ, there it was.

So I posted it here.

Hope you found it worth while.
