hey, that looks really cool.... but I'm doubtful it's gunna work at this stage...

I even get slight lag through my LAN running a media server (when other people are browsing etc.)... Also, sites like joox.net and megavideo.com are great ideas (although illegal) but rarely work smoothly... gaming with ANY lag would be crap, and would not be any competition with current systems imo

GDC 09: Exclusive Gametrak Freedom Preview

Image

"Unlike a Wiimote, where you can trick the infrared sensor into detecting full movement by flicking your wrists, the Freedom's ultrasonic detection system requires full physical movement from the user, and we mean that in a good way. In order to really apply force to an in-game object, users must take full swings with a proportional level of force."

Gonna buy a new PC tomorrow (Quad Core ftw). What's the best way to transfer my files? I have an 80GB external, that should do it yeah? Just save all the program to that and upload to the new HDD??

How about my Mum's Outlook emails...can they be transferred?

ok one more question for anyone with the know-how.

Can I just move my old IDE C: drive to the new PC, make it a slave instead of master and roll with that? The new PC has an MSI G31M3 series motherboard with 1 IDE port and 4 SATAII ports. I suspect the new HDD would be SATA II so would this work?

Thanks :smt003

Gotta make sure you change the jumpers on the back of the IDE drive to 'slave'. There should be a series of pins on the back joined with a piece of plastic.

Then change to bootup order of your devices in the BIOS.

I think. Its been a while since I dealt with an IDE drive.

Which PC am I changing boot up bios? Old or new?
So basically I'm making sure the old C drive doesn't boot when the new PC is turned on.

Wow I'm so bad at this :?

thanks for helping

In the new PC, make sure your new hard drive is set to boot up first, then the old IDE one, then the DVD drive etc etc.

Recently i've played:

Resident Evil 5 - feels odd at first but is insanely addictive. Awesome fun with heaps of replayability. Capcom always seem to pack a lot of cool extras into their games.

Silent Hill Homecoming - Pretty damn average. I'm a big fan of SH, but this one one was way too short, way too easy, and for a next-gen game looks pretty shit (graphically it looks more like a ps2 or xbox game). It sucks because they were on the right track, but made too many fundamental fuck ups. Puzzles aren't nearly cryptic enough.

exactly the same as xp. you should be able to open the full mixer (right-click or something?) and see multiple controls -- make sure both master and pcm are at 90%, or cranked if you really need to.

(ubuntu have been really slow to pick up the one which makes it basically the same as os x & vista, a lot more simple.)
