noob in town

Post by mrj »

Hi Kids

I'm a newbie to this forum, so I thought I would do the cliched newbie thing and start a pointless thread introducing myself.

I came here because RA has to many poms in the general threads and TS is too harsh for my fragile ego.

Actually, someone I was talking to at breakfastaz on the weekend recommended this forum and I thought it sounded noice.

Hoi to all the kids who went to Breakfastaz on Sat night, and hats off the the organisers of this event, it rocked my socks.

Thanks guys...........finally a friendly forum.

Nearlly every other forum I have seen/posted on your first post is usually an opportunity for the old schoolers to shoot you down.

This forum is a beacon of light in the inky black night of melbourne dance forums.

Praise be to you all

Sorry Rob M, but I don't go in for those back door shenanigans. Sure I'm flattered, maybe even a little curious, but the answer is no.

Damn straight we're friendly! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, alright?! Cause then, ya know, we're gonna have a beat down...

:smt075

:D

We're not genre elitists either, some folks on other forums just take shit waaaaaay too seriously. Although, if you're into breaks or D&B, then we'll get along even better than fine. :smt023 I also like good solid (non cheesy) house/prog, ambient, UK hiphop (ala DJ Format), instrumental hiphop/triphop and teeny bits of proper electro. As far as I know, no one's ever been chastised in this forum for their music taste, except maybe hard house...cause that's soulless wank

No one on here is insecure about their genre or their musical ability - there are many up and comers and people post on here who have stuff out on wax and even impending albums etc; no one is trying to pick up or "act the part" with the potatoe down the front of the jocks

Excellente.

Have mainly been a breaks child over the years but lately (last 6-8 months) I've found my myself more and more into the prog house (although have tried to keep the chin-stroking to a minimum). Been to the last couple of darkbeats as well and found the tribal house thing quite interesting also.

Also have some friends who are right into their D&B so have been listening to a fair bit of that, but I know feck all about the genre.

Plus I needed to post again as this is the one and only time there will ever be a thread about me and I must keep it alive or else be left here in the eft of life...forever
