The end of an era.

Ahh the memories of nurturing my 1200s... lugging them around to gigs, calibrating them for precision pitch, spending hours cleaning them after dropping a beer, special journeys just to get the right head-shells and carts, twisting those clunky round rubber feet with a spirit level to get just the right height, adjusting the anti-skate which I don't think I ever fully understood.
Don't think anything can replace that feeling of when you bought your first 1200s. RIP.
RIP Technics.

Really sad to see them go
2 years ago, i would have bet that Technics would have been around forever. Sign of the times I spose :(

Is this accurate? I've heard that the 1200MK5 and 1210MK5 will be discontinued leaving the 1210MK5G as the top of the range. The 1200 and 1210 MK2 will continue as normal.
Don't hate me for house

that's pretty shit if its true.
Re: RIP Technics.
Still have the pair I bought 10 years ago (shit, I'm old now). Flown from the states in a pair of boxes/travel crates and taken to doofs, nightclubs and countless parties over the years and they still work as good as the day I got them IMO.
I remember the time we did a BW tent at an Earthcore and I tripped backwards and kicked the tone arm and got plenty of shit all over them. Arm worked fine after and I still never had em serviced...they still work.
Best advice I ever got was "buy the best and you wont need to replace them...EVER!"
Figured this was coming...at least my boys will get mine one day.

You'd think axing the Technics SL series would hurt the digital (Serato / Traktor) market. There's still hope!
