I tried scanning my own film tonight... well, i started about midnight and it is now 5am, and i got about 10 photos scanned... I think it should take a bit quicker once i get used to the scanner + program, it was going quickly by the end... but i gotta sleep i think
anyway, here are a few shots from my DIY camera... http://www.flickr.com/photos/villephant ... 459389032/
(apart from the first 2 which are photos OF the DIY camera )

that is pretty darn nifty COB, nice work. is the flecks off the scanner or the DIY?

thanks!
yeh the flecks and hairs are from the scanner, i dusted it off, but forgot about the back light...
i probably should wipe that off as well before i scan anymore.. lol
was really noticeable in the next lot i put through... http://www.flickr.com/photos/villephant ... 6072859447
(the ones in that set from that point on (clicking next) are ones i scanned the other night)
it was the main reason i wanted to scan them myself, i had a roll scanned for me from that camera last time and i wasn't entirely happy with it, they came back in bits. there are supposed to be 4 frames per shot, but they gave me 2 or 3 and sometimes they were cut in half... which made it difficult to work with (although some of them i tried to play with that lol)
but yeh the dust and hairs are really obvious >.<

nah sometimes stuff on the scanner adds to the photo. i used to not like the look, but it can add to it which is kind of cool.

In December I walked the Milford Track in Fiordland National Park in NZ. It's considered one of the greatest walks in the world and something I've wanted to do for a long time. 4 days, two boat trips and 54km of walking. Things got a little nasty along the way, with 400mm of rain in 24hours and 150km/h winds. This resulted in us and 40 other people having to be helicopter rescued from McKinnon Pass. Here are a few shots:
Got some good shots on friday of new "Pop-Up Park" opening in Dandenong, that one of the Landscape Architects at my work designed.
Will post some when bothered to get them onto home PC.

some shots from the dandy popup park i was talkin about.
very cloudy/dull day, kinda dramatic at times tho
some silly/commercial style ones of ministers opening it... funny how they don't represent the cultural diversity of the area at all.
at least the landscapers-in-training do
not sure if the off colours was from my scanning or because it was expired.
not sure i like it, sometimes i look at it and it hurts my eyes, and sometimes i like it haha
hurray for experimentation

unique quality to those shots as always with holga.
nice work. especially dig the last 2!
it'd be a great style to use for a tv title sequence or something! obviously not the same but kinda reminds me of heavily graded green footage of Portlandia opening.
thanks, yeh after shooting that roll i kind of want to do something with the numbers on the side there to make some sort of animation with it...
just flicking through the files in my folder made it look cool
would take a bit of time to figure what i wanted to do...
was also thinking of just taking a black shot so i can use it as an overlay...
not sure if that would work though >.<
only one way to find out
