When each song seems to tell some story relevant to you,
as if each sound is familiar in a way,
yet the patterns which they evolve from,
writes a new chapter for you,
sound that sparks imagination,
that resonates and alters the pulse of blood
with a replacement bass for the beating of your heart.

Sometimes on a dancefloor, I close my eyes, consciously separating from the visual world,
black it out and feel the sounds travel from ears to to arms and hips and legs,
the vibrations that move through anyone dancing, flicked from fingers and kicked from feet into the air.

When the flood of links and mixes and demo cds occasionally produces one I cant stop listening to, or one track is on high rotation in my head for months after hearing it, when a dj's track or a note from someones instrument hits that place inside you,
where it just fits with some ideal moment, and suddenly, a smile spreads and the dirt of living is forgotten,
lost in the moment.

I dance in my bedroom after a shower, in parks under trees,
in bars hidden down alleyways, in clubs the world over.
I dance in the bush, stomping dust and watching clouds cover the sun.

I hear music, and i imagine other places.
I am transported to grottoes and ghettos and sunlit patches in other worlds,
i raise my hands, i sing along, and my heart fills as we all connect through sounds,
collective consciousness, worldwide reassurance,
to know that someone out there understands,
for they made a song about it!
How did they know so much?

And as time moves endlessly, sounds form a scrapbook,
songs conjure stronger memories than smell,
a few notes and tears of remembering,
or a smile at the joy and optimism of younger days,
special moments now linked from me to you to everyone.

As we work and strive and talk and hype and plan and create,
I write this to remind you,
dont forget about the music for the music's sake.

generally happens for me when someone does something i like but pulls it off a million times better than i ever could hope too. competition and exposure to people who are loads better is what gives the inspiration.

mine are artists like delta, jose parla and robin rhodes (especially). pretty sure i have ranted about them before.
