Instant Food Winners.....

Post by Feigan »

I'm a lazy person when it comes to food at work most of the time....

Just cracked open curry flavoured two minute noodles, not bad so far.

What noodle, soup, noodle/soup products work for you

My personal favourite is Mee Goreng in the white packet with the red writing.

I also used to get on to the Trident Tom Yum soup sachets on a regular basis.....

what else is good?

Hit me up wth some new lunch time snacky snack ideas!

Fruit is the best instant food imo. I keep a bowl of fruit on my desk at work, and it's great, usually have 3 or 4 pieces a day and it only costs me about $15 for the week.

Bananas + Nectarines + Red Delicious + Mandarines. Best for constant snacking.

yes to fruit. and lately im taking berries and apricots from my tree outside, which all the bar staff steal.

when it comes to instant food my new favorite thing is rice in a packet, that you microwave and its done in 2 minutes.
i was skeptical at first, but the risotto is AWESOME, ten minutes and awesome risotto!
there are loads of kinda and sizes and are perfect for someone who is lazy and cooks for one often :)

in winter a nice soup is great and easy, they have some in a clear plastic bag type container in the fridges at the supermarket with delicious flavours like carrot and corriander, pumpkin and cashew tom yum etc.
Fruit is always a win too.

Generally speaking, I can't handle waiting for my turn to use the microwave and putting up meaningless chatter so I go and buy sushi and eat it at my desk like I am right now.

That shit scares the fuck outa me seriously have you seen the picture on the internet with the WHOLE chicken in a can? That's even scary.

I'm really lazy with work lately constantly buying just crap.

I used to go through massive fazes and cook up a ton of stuff and container it and heat at work, do like a spag bol and apricot chicken with reice and deviled sausages and cheesy mash on like a saturday and freeze it then just bung it in the micro at work.

Another fav for easy work lunches for me is those salads in the tubs, not like the pasta ones but the ones in the vegies section but in the bigger tubs and adding something like ham or smoked chicken to it and TADA instant smoked chicken salad!

beautiful, I do struggle with the not eating of the smoked chicken before its added to the salad though
The fridge is angry, the cheese told me so.

I buy some chicken loaf from the deli and every night I prep some jarlesberg cheese, semi dried tomatoes and cucumber and make my sanga at work. Fills me up for at least 3 hours.

lately I've been getting the Sunrise 90sec brown rice with vegetables, then grabbing a quarter roast hot chicken - tear the meat off (sans skin), mix it all together, add some soy and there you go... you can also add those little steam veggie packs, but they smell a little strange....

Like the rice idea Spies Dog....

sounds a bit like old mans food though

:teef:

I've been busting out the home made bean salad (4 bean mix, baby beets, corn) this week with tins of flavoured tuna.

nice and healthy, cheap and easy.

Mixy - you've prompted me to get back on the sanga wagon... it's been ages and I miss the good old ham, cheese, mustard, lettuce combo that mum used to make!

I'm certainly no conniseur when it comes to Sandwiches.

However - there has been mention of Sandwiches on MB.com which has lead me to another lunch style topic to include.

Sandwiches, Wraps, Foccacia, Bagels.....

I enjoyed a monster roast chicken sandwich on the weekend, tomato, avocado, baby spinach, wholegrain mustard, stuffing out of the chook (highly recommended) with melted tasty cheese on top.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

Bread used was some sort of pumpkin seed bread - may have been Helga's - can't be sure. was a big win though.

What are you favourites?
