this story actually has some legs

flows of technics turntables have stopped to stores in australia

LATEST TECHNICS UPDATE - It is uncertain what is happening with the supply of Technics Turntables. Panasonic (Distributor) in Australia cannot provide any answers if they are still in production or not. So at this point, we feel comfortable in saying these are no longer available globally. Worldwide; it seems most big players also have no stock.

2nd hand prices will sky rocket surely....

problem with technics is any who has them has probably had them for a long time, they last forever.... no new interest in the product.

Yeah there was big debate about this a year or so ago after it slipped out from the NZL distributors (I think it was NZ).

I've also heard that they were all going to be branded Panasonic.
I've also heard that they were only going to be available as home hi-fi, i.e. Technics DJ line to be disbanded... who knows?

All good from where I'm sitting... buy some TTXUSB's FFS! Far superior turntable

wonder if those who were going to digitise/sell their vinyl would have generally done so by now

i haven't and cant imagine i will - no time and while I don't love my collection like i did cant see myself clearing it, and my decks in a hurry, even though I don't use them

just pondering, and how this sort of thing affects the 2nds market
