Tried some beers last night I hadn't tasted before...

Little Creatures Pilsner - Not overpowered by hops, good balance and delicious aftertaste.
Coldstream Pilsner - Bitter hops with clean taste, very little aftertaste.
Coopers Extra Strong Vintage Ale - 7.5% packs a punch, heavy ale flavour but not overpowering.

Head's a little sore today.

Been trying to get through all the locals at the local bottlo. Kooinda on a regular basis though.

Snowy River pale gets bought a bit.
Just tried the Hawthorn - fuking eh, got a great taste.
KrackenBacken - ok, will buy again
Kooinda - am i biased or is this one hell of a drop?

Cant remember names of others - young guy who runs the place has great taste though.

Kooinda certainly is nice mate... a true rival to the Little Creatures Pale Ale crown. TBH, after 4 or so Kooi's I need something else to mix it up, as it's got full-on hops, but it's one of my favourite beers at the moment. Would LOVE to try it on tap!

Haven't tried 'Hawthorn' - would be keen to. What is it?
Snowy River and Crackenback - meh, they're okay I guess. Wouldn't mind drinking one, but wouldn't rush out to buy one either.

Went to the microbrewery tasting at Fed Square last Thursday. Came across one of the best Amber Ales i've ever tasted. Today was an epic drive to the country and after a long day in the car stopped off at the Hotel where it's brewed. The pub is called Tooboorac Hotel & Brewery, its on the Northern Highway (if you're driving to Echuca I highly recommend a pit stop at this hotel) about 20km south of Heathcote. They also brew a pale ale and they just finished brewing a lager.

Anyway I took some happy snaps.

Awww scenic view from chair outside the hotel.

Did a tasting last night at Purvis Cellars in Surrey Hills. Kooinda plus about 40 other brewers flogging their beer. Was such good fun, meet heaps of people and tried some great beers and some not so great.

I will say this though - Little creatures Single Batch IPA - Seek and ye shall find. Bloody fantastic.

Barons Black Wattle Ale and Barons Lemon Myrtle Wheat Beer are bloody awesome.

Went out to the Coldstream Brewery a few weeks ago. Ended up going twice, the food was so good. Go check it out. The Coldstream Naked Ale was awesome.

Off to Red Hill brewery on the Mornington Peninsular this weekend. They have a very interesting selection of beers.

Best beer (Naked Ale) in Victoria imo.

Try the pilsner and if you did I hope you thought it kicked arse.

On the Three Troupers Pale today.

Got a more fruity taste than some of the heavier Ales about. Great drinking beer, easy down it goes. Might not be as sophisticated or layered as some of the other boutiques around - and that is a good thing for day sesh imo.

Rate it.

not a big fan of porters but most of monteiths list impresses me (except for their Summer Ale which everyone I know rated but my tastebuds said hell no - i appreciate what they tried to do though).

From their website (which has an age verification which is absolutely pointless btw if you know how to count)...
Monteith’s crisp and smooth Black is crisper than sweet darks and smoother than harsh stouts. It’s a beer that is crafted from a blend of five premium malts to create a complex depth of flavours with coffee notes dominant.
:retzielikes:

I wish Dan M's had a Schwarzbier to buy. Craving one today for some reason.
