Prepaid mobile broadband

Post by lilstormer »

I'm looking at getting one of those prepaid usb broadband arrangements. Anyone got any feedback/advice as to what is good, reliable re coverage, etc. ?

optus are nice and cheap - go prepaid and it's $3 per day for unlimited calls + smses + quite a lot of data, but their data network is bullshit. voda has even worse coverage and i think telstra's plans are crap, so sadly they win by default.

oh, sorry. what i meant is that you can just buy a normal optus pre-paid sim for $2, plus $3 per day for every day you want to use it - you can get these from any supermarket and activate '3 dollar days' online. you can also buy a usb mobile broadband adaptor from most supermarkets or optus shops which you just pop that sim into.

and if you do need to use it to call or sms for cheaps, you can just pop it into a phone. :)

I've only ever gone with the telstra pre paid broadband, coverage is good never had drop outs of anything cause it uses their mobile network, and unfortunately their mobile network coverage is the best in the world.
My sister has vodaphone, their coverage is SHIT got fuck all signal which in turn rules out 3mobile seeing as they're now one in the same. I dunno what optus is like, I have an inherent fear of them for absolutly no reason.
