I believe in academic discourse, knowledge and practice. I do not believe in paranoid nonsense.

Where are you getting your facts from and why would I believe you over millions of perfectly sane, rational people who have bothered to review the evidence?

Seriously! This stuff shits me to tears.

For the sake of it? You're the one breeding fear by assuming we're being manipulated by some hidden threat when we're not.

Its not convenient Bo, its just what happens. There is no media conspiracy to tell you stuff that is untrue just to make life that little bit extra complicated.

The media feeds you information, because we live in a free country, which is geared to be topical, newsworthy and of general interest. They're not making it up.

What you choose to believe, you need evidence to rationalise, and if you dont have any - then you really are clutching at straws. I'll take proper journalism as perfectly valid second-hand evidence thanks, certainly over most other forms of information.

Holy shit, the number of "America: fuck yeah"-type comments on FB from my American peeps is truly disturbing. These are meant to be thinking people :?

To quote a fellow Aussie here:
Well, I suppose that aggressive war --- the supreme international crime --- against two nations, attacks against several others, hundreds of thousands of dead, and millions of refugees are justified then.

I'm more interested in how this will affect the US's continuity in Afghanistan, how it will affect voters in the polls running up to election, and how much of a blow to morale is it for an already rabble-roused Al Queda.

YI, you really shouldn't take government spin for granted.
Look up the Gulf of Tonkin incident and realise if they have done it once, they could have (most likely have) done it again (and again).

I'm not talking about Govt spin at all, I dont know where you got that idea.

I'm talking about unbiased, real journalism. Which I do trust over crackpot theories. Do you really think people risk their lives to go and report in war torn areas to deliver half truths and govt misinformation?

Well of course they don't and some of them work for reputable news companies who value level-headed honest reporting over everything else.

What you choose to believe is up to you... like I said before. But I dont subscribe to cynical, fact-evading paranoia.

For the record, i do not subscibe to GKs Obama didn't exist (sorry Bo)
De-classified documents prove what was a widely accepted incident (Gulf of Tonkin) which launched the Vietnam war, was made up, faked, DID NOT HAPPEN and as a result hundreds of thousands maybe even millions of people were killed.

I think that alone warrants a little suspicion/paranoia/cynicism about official reports regarding what occurred on 9/11.

So what im saying here is, back in '65 when this incident occurred, you can bet those same 'unbiased real journalists' were reporting about the callous attacks of the Vietnamese on the American navy.

of course and I agree everyone has their own political agenda however "unbiased" they would purport to be.

but there's a vast difference between reporting on things that are happening from a factual point of view (say using photography), even from a political standpoint, to faking things or indeed manipulating world events to such a vast degree that everyone is being hoodwinked.

and there's a big difference between healthy cynicism and thinking the whole world is out to get you or is a bunch of idiotic sheep who know less than you.

if they have killed someone its taken an army 11 years to kill one guy, the world aint that bigger place so i guess they would find him in the end.
also that doeswnt fill with confidence in the coalition forces if say aliens showed up. how long will it take us to kill 1000 or so of them>?
