Yeah I did it all myself. I've got a human rig that I use for most projects now, which simplifies things.
But you're right, the first time you start rigging can be a bit daunting.
Also, as this is a game, I have to have two rigs.
One with lots of controllers for animating and another, simplified version
that is used for exporting the animation into the game.
Having two can be a real pain in the arse.
Which program are you using? I use Maya

I made this image for the cover of this weekends AFL Footy Record.

Stray how would you rate learning mayo (pfft) in terms of difficulty? im trying to find a mac program for rendering cad stuff... any suggestions?
here's part of my design from last semester.. a redevelopment of tokyo station
I learnt max.. then lightwave and then Maya. I found Maya to bedelune wrote: Stray how would you rate learning mayo (pfft) in terms of difficulty? im trying to find a mac program for rendering cad stuff... any suggestions?
the easiest to pickup. I find it's layout and buttons are the most intuitive.
But then again.. that may just be because it was the third program I learnt.
I don't know much about 3d programs on mac.. I know you can import
all cad files into maya now with no hassles without losing any data.
I use one for photoshop work. Very handy.nic wrote:Anyone use Wacom tablet? I miss the one I used to use at work, they are so good. once you get used to it
One of the guys here uses his in Maya.
I gave it a shot but find it too awkward.
Have you tried using one in a 3d program?
What about one of those 3d controllers.. the ones with the ball on top.
Anyone had a shot at one of those puppies?
Mecka.. download the free version of Maya.. do the basic tutorials that
come with it.. will take maybe an hour.
Easy to pick up, hard to master.. but once you start, you won't stop!
Then you can take one of your pics and create it in 3d!

these are some things I did for a high school diary, to have in between all the calander bits, we havent had the meeting with the client or anything yet, so I don't know if they are going to like any of mine.. but..
here they are anyway.. they are a bit silly, and very badly drawn (we had to make it look as hand drawn as we could.. and I can't actually draw with my hands, so I just did it in illustrator.. and threw some random brush strokes over them to make them less.. illustratorish..
they are supposed to help kids who are in need.. or.. something.. im not really sure, they just gave us some "issues" to deal with.. I think mine are probably too sarcastic for what htey are after though.. crap, look at me ramble..
SPAM AHOY!!!
and then I got bored.. and drew some.. thing.. *shrugs*
