has anyone ever watched that cheese show on cable? the travel all over the world visiting different countries tasting their cheeses and seeing how they're made. so cool!

when joe gets back from o/s we're going to have a cheese party. we've been talking about it for ages but haven't got to it.

buy heaps or bread, biscuits, wine etc and invite heaps of people and say they each have to bring their favourite cheese to share around :D 8)

you should do a Margaret River night

produce from there is awesome!
...and basically that's the situation

Yeah yeah, been getting into cheeses a lot the past year or so, since I've been drinking wine a lot more ... you gotta splash out on some decent cheese and wine though for a successful cheese parteh =D

Nothing like a couple of bottles of decent wine (white, red, take your pick) and some quality cheeses (with cracked pepper crackers, of course ;)).

Where abouts, I work near corner of Flinders lane and William. There is some wikkid chinese down a lane way off Collins before spencer street, Boost is on the corner of laneway, you need to go down halfway down laneway.

Satay bar rules, its just after William street but before King St on Flinders lane. Real nice satay goodness.

Somewhere in this tread someone mentioned Margaret River action;
I had a bottle of Vasse Felix Margaret River Shiraz (1999, I think) and it was without a doubt the best I've imbibed. Ever. Oh yes - I want more, post-haste!

Also, RE: King Island: Yes, the cheese there is unbelievable - a few years ago, I sailed there (on the Young Endeavour) and went to the factory, and tasted pretty much their entire cheese catalogue. BOH!
If you can, try their special blue cheese - it's called "The Admiralty" and it's so mouldy it's sold in a jar. I like their smoked cheeses the most.

Oh yeah, the kids on King Island are hilarious - while I was there they had a party on the beach, and it was messy - You'd think with such a small population they'd be pretty chilled out, but these pricks were bottling each other!
Cabin-fever or something, I guess.

the 'Hawkers Market' is happening very soon at teh Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.

It's held at Vic Market, will see if I can find the details

anything from Margaret River is the dogs bollocks, bot left and right

If I buy Cleanskins I just go for anything from MR, same with choosing wine from a list in a restaraunt full of stuff you've never heard of, MR is always a safe bet.

mi goreng ftw. you can make it as simple or complicated as you like.
I streamlined the process so much that all i dirtied was the bowl i ate it in and the fork =D

if i'm making a proper meal as opposed to coming home drunk and needing salt, i like to scramble up an egg with onion, corn, garlic, etc and mix that in to the cooked noodles and add a bit of fish sauce as well.

pork buns from chinese restaurants rock. there's a little place on russel st next to the club x that makes pwntastic ones. i think the place is called nam loong (sp?)

yeah its all about how wasted you are when making mee goreng.

crack an egg (or just the yolk) into it and a tin of chili tuna and its freaking wicked.

now that gets your sweat on. not quite as much as my patented thai currys tho. ;)

man, wouldnt it suck if you didnt like (or couldnt handle hehe) spicey food.

not looking at anyone in particular. :P

on a side note.

i just ate 4 more pork buns. :D

Continental Pasta & Sauce. The bee's knees for flavour, speed and ability to fill my rumbling belly. Best flavours are Cheese & Crack Pepper and Four Cheeses, with honourable mentions to Curry Chicken and Macaroni Cheese. :D

I've tried those Maggie 'just pour hot water and wait 3 minutes' ones but they taste like chemicals. :smt078
