I think perhaps it is inaccurate to post RE: the Napier Hotel's "Bogan Burger" within the Snacks thread.
A big-assed foccacia-style bun topped with a steak, a chicken schnitzel, a potatocake, bacon, egg, pineapple, beetroot, spicy mayo, and all manner of salad greens, served with a side of "big chips" (they're big) and more garden salad, and garnished with a cocktail umbrella is far from a snack.
If you want a snack, go for their calamari, or vegie spring-rolls - both excellent.
If you want seriously the best fucking lunch/hangover-cure in the known universe, get the Bogan Burger. It's the tits!
- I should know - I live in Ringwood, where bogans are at their boganiest.
NB: Must always be consumed with at least one pint of Coopers Red.

Fix up, Look sharp!
Me and TimmyG has Bogan Burgers the other day. I actually managed to disconcert myself when I finished my own and then started in on Timmy's wedges.waggers wrote:I think perhaps it is inaccurate to post RE: the Napier Hotel's "Bogan Burger" within the Snacks thread.

Napier rocks!
My boy used to live on Napier St, a few doors down from The Napier. We used to eat there all the time. SO GOOD!
Have been to Tolarnos and had the burgers there a few times. I remember the first time I got one I just sat there looking at it for a few minutes trying to work out how the hell I was going to tackle it... It's too big to even pick up! Massive!

W3RD! I eat them about 3 times a week. I can see Oporto's from my office window. the Chicken Strips are the absolute bizness too!
Ukime, I've had the pleasure of mowing down a Tolarno's burger. they had a massive following on ITM (search for the thread, it's a pisser)
I gotta say that the best burger I've had recently came from some gourmet joint in Elwood (Stovie, do you remember the name?) This mofo even had camambert cheese!
that Bogan Burger sounds farkin disgraceful. the Bogans can keep it coz I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft barge pole

Some great cheap places on Russel St. for Peking Duck (not dodgy, surprisingly good quality) - I'll post it up when I remember.
Just a note, the places with people going "you chasin'?" aren't referring to Peking Duck. Nor were they saying "you know Jason?" if you ask them to repeat themselves

there's a cheese that K-Man got once that wasn't a particular brand, it was just called Sharp & Crumbly. one of the nicest cheeses I've ever eaten.
don't mind a bit of Havarti either, my Mum brought me up on that shit. very subtle flavour but damn good shit
Fred Walker Tasty
and assorted cheeses I find at the market
W3RD to the Cracked Pepper Savoys too

i love the watsonia vintage...
totally hooked on it
has anyone ever watched that cheese show on cable? the travel all over the world visiting different countries tasting their cheeses and seeing how they're made. so cool!
when joe gets back from o/s we're going to have a cheese party. we've been talking about it for ages but haven't got to it.
buy heaps or bread, biscuits, wine etc and invite heaps of people and say they each have to bring their favourite cheese to share around
