Enjoyed that vid Kitty. Thanks.
Also: for anyone who hasn't yet seen it, you can watch the ABC Artscape special on Ghostpatrol and Miso in full online.
http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/program/342522
It's amazing.
Surprised (and impressed) that ABC made this, especially bits showing them putting up works in the streets at night.

kind of the same, real graff. great read too, my dad picked it up and enjoyed it too, mainly stories about fuzz's growing up. Started graff at 10, wholecars by 13, getting shot at, book has it all!

Re: Street Art
ghetto kitty's latest street art report
At Large - new gallery in northcote, right next to the peacock hotel on high st, the opening was on the weekend, some GREAT art at this, (one i want but oh oh have no walls left) but honestly, often at these openings there is at least one on the wall i go 'hmmm why is that there' and not at this show, all of it was great, different, and reasonably priced.
check it out.
Kick Gallery - bit down high st from At Large, on the other side. Some great stuff here at the moment, not all street related, but some nice stuff anyways, for the next 3 weeks Jake has got an extra building for MORE art, so go check it out!
Sketch city - Last one for winter was on Sunday, amazing work from Club Muchacho and Damage, but the stand out was Orlando Kintero who does these beautiful paintings of faces mixed with almost art deco linework, hand painted and using spray etc. WOW.
there was tunes by High Society, Deadly are the naked, Lady Lash and Mz Rizk, DJ Hawsplay and a crowd of around 150 + people, my favorite was the 12 year old taggers who bought pink and blue pastel paint for their tags, then wanted me to pose next to them cos i was wearing the same colours. Sketch city will be doing monthly events of different kinds, workshops and loads of other stuff, get in touch if you want more info.
coming up >>>
Vexta and Ha Ha show - they do amazing stencils, Haha is known for his ned kelly's and commentaries on aussie culcha etc
"Fierce Creatures"
Wednesday 24th June 6-8pm
Dickerson Gallery 44 Oxford St Collingwood 3066
Show runs until July 12th
thats it for now, on the streets there are no rules.

Number 13 - on the left wall when you walked in, down the bottom, toward the archway. A manga style chick with purple hair that kinda went whinding up into a tree. So cute. I think there were similar ones at Lounge a few weeks ago, so I assume it was the same chick. Same eyes and stuff as this one.

Re: Street Art
nice one sammy! I liked that one! beware, buying art is fukkin addictive. I seriously have got art in my shed that i dont have room for in my house, and the entire house is only filled with my collection (sorry housemates!)Lil MiSbreaks wrote:Number 13 - on the left wall when you walked in, down the bottom, toward the archway. the one i wanted was the print on the left wall near dj, with a grrl in her car wearing cowboy hat and the dragon flying over, really stylized, and all my favorite colours, pinks blues and greys...mmmm. i still want it.

I liked that one too - also like the one with the Zombies that looked like they could have been students, but we are also running out of room...
Re: Street Art
Does anyone know any Melbourne artists that have an connection with or have been influenced by the graf scene in Buenos Aires/Argentina or South America generally?
If so PM me. I wanna get in touch with them for an article I'm doing.
Muchas Gracias.

Re: Street Art
Nice one!
Hence why K Swiss sent me to Asia to promote stencils as an art form, hardly anybody was/is doing them, not like here.
However, in hong kong they have five in a crew, one to paint, four to keep watch or they get put right in jail. So im not sure it's street art utopia yet in that part of the world!
