depends on the hours already done isn't it?
Depends on what union and industry you fall under.

I don't think it relates to hours done, 9hrs isnt a long working day.
hmmm i'm gonna ask the boy now. cos he worked construction (here in Melbs of course) for years and years, and they got sent home when it hit a certain temp. Not sure whether he got paid thereafter though. Then again, sometimes the bosses put on an all expenses paid beer and bbq thing for em.

well, there was a huge union busting campaign up here in 93-95 where hundreds of workers families occupied the wharves and shut the town down, but eventually the corporations won and workers rights were disassembled, many families left the area and a whole new wave of reforms, especially individual contracts. so in a town where 1000 people work for rio tinto and 800 work for contractors that do some or all of their work for rio and there's a few bars and the supermarket i think there might be 0% union adherence
CFMEU didn't do shit because its a small force, remote without good media, lots of aboriginals (not to suggest the unions have a history of racist at all????)

this said, i don't feel badly treated

being far northern queensland, its gonna be fucking hot every day.
they do A LOT to look after this
i've never had so many breaks
i've never had people checking up to make sure i'm okay, make sure im on the water, make sure lunch was salty enough, check sunscreen, check hats etc
safety protocol is out of control.
definitely getting financially compensated for the heat and the remoteness

but i do retain the right to bitch a little bit

Interesting, well at least they take into account the need to watch for the heat. I guess they have to, or you lot would be dropping off like flies.

Hey all,

I'm looking for some work at the moment to carry me over until end of January. If anybody has any suggestions, I'm open to it.

In terms of experience, I've worked in bars, restaurants, resorts, manufacturing environments.

I want to be a housewife- stay home and clean and cook mad shit and watch Ready Steady Cook and Judge Judy every day, except Fri to Mon when I would be going out and spending lots of cash and neurones partying, or recovering from same.

Definate no breed clause though- that would interfere with partying and assault my body and I do enough of that on my own steam

Instead of a job, I want to give someone else one- work for my leisure and sanity.

I'd be horribly well adjusted if I needed not work

I am looking for a new account manager role if someone needs one :) Background in marketing and multimedia. Been in my current role at coles myer for 4 years and its time for a change, finish up here 31st Jan.

Also my current office is looking for a couple new admin assistants, full time, I can pass on any resumes direct to the new boss that is hiring :D Basically just placing gift card orders, answering phones, customer service and support to the account managers.

I'm looking for a new job too

Ideally I'd like a position reporting directly to the CEO as the vice president, no wait, JUNIOR vice president in charge of testing, ideally for a large and profitable organisation involved in one or more of the following
- Alchohol manufacture
- Sneaker importing
- Computer games
- Music or something

Given the constraints of the current labour market I am willing to accept any position that offers between 5 and 10 hours a week with a pro rata salary of between 200k and 500k. Please feel free to PM me and I will send through my resume.

Theres some customer service roles going at my work, case management stuff, mix of inbound and call back for followups between service centres and customers.

Percepta offers a competitive salary package, auto industry employee benefits and an work environment. An added PLUS, no weekend work or nights!

The peeps that work here are a hard case. Ive been here 20 months and only just starting to think about moving on cause I took a scondment and don't like the new environment.

Hit me up and I'll sort you out the details.

Looking for an IT role, possibly in the Finance arena.

Would take anything really, being unemployed is depressing.

I've got 8 years web dev/design/support (consulting and analysis) and core business skills i.e. proj management, accounting, training experience.

CBD or Northern subs preferred.

Not looking for development roles. I'm over it...

Looking to move into financial management of some description. Even happy to start at the bottom.

I'm degree qualified and have SAP certification. Have managed staff and solo projects with great results.

Would you like to know more... ?
