looking on ebay atm
around 50 bucks gets a decent 28" CRT
that'd be fine for now

its crazy the depreciation on CRTs a 4 year old sony that sold at $900 is now around $50
thats worse than buying a new car

This could be a good buy:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Loewe-TV-3472-Pr ... 286.c0.m14

I bought one the other week for $150. Its not 100Hz but for a 50Hz set is one of the best buys out there, as a model. Of course each tv has its own history of use etc.

Anyway, i used to sell teles and high end hifi and know that loewe are the best of the crts. give modern lcds more than a run for their money

if you have some you are casing let me know if you want advice re models, series. there was a technical fault in one series to be aware of.

one thing about some loewes like this one, the best connetivity you will get from a dvd player will be s-video. the cheaper models didn't support component. they do rgb though, which most set top boxes should offer?

I have a spare brand new 500gig slim portable HDD...

$125

It cost me $149 but the same day i saw one on zazz and got it for $125. I rang to see if I could swap this one and they said yes, but didn't tell me about the 7 day limit, so I'm stuck with 2.

Novation KS Rack - Virtual Analogue Synthesizer - 16 Voice

Great Condition

Here we have my pre loved Novation KS rack. I am selling this to fund my exploits into the analogue realm. I will be truly sad to see it go, but I havent used it enough to really justify holding onto it. This has never left my home and is always covered with a dust cover when not in use. All knobs and buttons work brilliantly. Heres the nitty gritty details and specs. ( P.s there is a little bit of rack rash on the mounting holes, but this is very minor, i just like to point out any minor things so there are no surprises. )

The KS-synths have 3 oscillators which provide sawtooth, triangle, sine, pulse width modulation and other waveforms. There's even a simple FM synth engine which can be dialed in for sharpening the sound. Oscillators may be set to Unison or Sync'd operation and a Noise source is also included in the waveform engine. There is a nice low-/band-/high-pass resonant filter with switchable 12 or 24dB/oct slopes and ADSR controls. A second ADSR envelope is available for the amp, as well as two LFOs with sample-and-hold and MIDI sync.

On-board effects include reverb and delay/chorus/flanger. Their send levels can be controlled by the Mod wheel which is a nice effect. A 12-band vocoder is also on-board for processing external mono sounds such as drum loops or vocals. Pads sound great when vocoded with external sounds. External sounds can also be used as an oscillator, run through the filters, envelopes, etc. with much better results than were possible on the original Bass Stations.

There is four part multi-timbral operation with four individual assignable outputs. A big plus is a separate effects section for each part - a unique Novation feature from the Supernova. Also featured are 4 Arpeggiators and 16 note polyphony with a 16 band Vocoder.

Specifications

Polyphony - 16 voices, 4-Part multitimbral
Oscillators - 3 osc with Square / Saw / Variable Pulse / Tri / Sine / Double Saw / Double Tri / Double Sine waveforms. Osc 1-2 sync, FM, Ring Mod, Noise and external audio in (mono).
LFO - 2 LFOs: sine, triangle, saw, square, sample-and-hold, panning, with speed and delay parameters. Cyclic or 1-shot.
Filter - low/high/band, 12/24 dB switchable
Envelopes - ADSR envelope generators
Effects - 6 simultaneous FX per program: Reverb, Distortion plus tempo-locked Chorus, Phaser, Delay, Panner & Enveloped Filter with EQ, 12-band Vocoder
Arpeggiator - 4 independent in multi mode; up, down, random, chord modes; 32 preset patterns; range and latch mode saved per program.
Memory - 200 preset programs, 50 preset performances, 100 drum sounds; 200 user programs, 100 user drum programs, 50 user performances.
Control - MIDI IN/OUT/THRU
Date Produced - 2003

Mackie Onyx 1220 Mixer w/ FireWire Audio Interface Card

$999! (RRP = $1499 for the mixer and $999 for the Firewire card, total RRP = $2498)

Great condition! Everything is working 100%. Only selling due to upgrade. Has had smoke-free studio use only, its been super stable and never let me down.

Brilliant mixer. Beautiful Pre Amps, Lush Perkins EQ, Mackie quality.

Amazing FireWire intergration! Streams up to 18 channels of audio @ 24-bit/96kHz. You can even daisy chain more mixers together to get up to 32 simultaneous channels into your computer!

Image

All info here: http://www.mackie.com/products/onyx1220/

From Mackie:

12 Channels of Premium Analog Mixing, with 24-Bit/96kHz FireWire I/O

TWO YEARS IN THE MAKING...
The goal for Mackie's flagship Onyx series of small-format mixers was to bring premium analog sound, expanded features, and streaming FireWire connectivity to both recording and live sound environments. To pull all this off, we started with a team of veteran audio product engineers from the great Pacific Northwest (aka Woodinville, Washington). The Onyx team quickly set out by specifying the highest-quality analog components--from premium op-amps to IC chips costing exponentially more than previous designs. In many cases, we developed components completely from scratch. With Greg Mackie himself steering Onyx mixer layout and design, we took a "real world" approach to the entire process.

ONYX MIC PREAMPS
Because a great mixer starts with great mic preamps, we invested significant R&D efforts into developing our new flagship Onyx mic preamps. These preamps build upon our already-impressive XDR design to meet or surpass expensive esoteric standalone mic pres in terms of fidelity, headroom and transparency—as well as improved radio frequency (RFI) rejection and wider dynamic range. Read more.

PERKINS EQ CIRCUITRY
When it was time for the Onyx EQ section, we turned to veteran audio engineer Cal Perkins to develop our new Perkins EQ circuitry—a "neo classic" 3- and 4-band design based on classic "British EQ" circuitry from mixing desks of the '60s and '70s. Cal devised a way to give Perkins EQ that sweet "British console" sound, but with greater filter control and minimum phase shift. Read more.

LISTENING TO OUR CUSTOMERS
We rounded out the Onyx 1220 feature set by answering some common requests from our compact mixer customers: adding individual 48v phantom power and balanced direct outputs on every channel; a full Auxiliary section with Pre/Post control; and a new Talkback section with a convenient built-in mic. We even developed a "Planet Earth" switching power supply for worldwide use.

FIREWIRE I/O OPTION CARD
In the category of "Why didn't someone think of this sooner?", we gave the Onyx 1220 an optional FireWire I/O card, which bridges the analog-to-digital gap by providing up to 14 independent channels of high-quality 24-bit/96kHz audio that you can plug right into your FireWire-equipped Mac or PC. And bring a stereo mix back from your computer for monitoring purposes.
