I'm not being arrogant at all...just hangin shit on Carlton and their supporters. It's fun!

I seem to remember Feigs boasting that Fev would kick 100 first and Carlton would win. That's like saying yer nan will hang outside a train station propositioning people with a dildo during peak hour commute.

Actually, didn't that happen to someone recently?

Arrogance can be defined as:
offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride -Dictionary.com

I'd call it arrogance.

BUT... it's all in jest, fear not almax (ya poof) and OB1 (you Mayblooming Seppo)

Seriously, good luck to you guys... I hope you do well, but I don't think anyone is in the same league as Geelong.

Well thats an interesting point you bring up there Mr Tanker, because if you do happen to win a premiership in the next few years thanks to the awesome recruitment we may have to start calling the blues Chelsea

Mr Tanker - I'll be referred to as Exxon Valdez from now thank you hairy crutch.

are people still bringing this whole tanking deal up?

C'mon - I mean really, one player alone is not going to win a team a premiership.

except in the case of Buddy Franklin - he is just so hot right now.

Who said I'm loud?

I just love hangin shit on those who deserve it. Those who guarantee a win, a goal kicking medal and an accompanying game with their mate only to pull out at the last second to get their hair done.

Sydney does that to people I guess.

Hair done for a hot date. I was sold out. I think he went out with a few men while he was here. Feigs, please fill us all in.

I can take whatever you want to dish out, my man. We breed em tough in, what'd you call it, Maybloomer Land. Something not-too-masculine like that, I think.

lol

With a colour code of brown and yellow, Hawthorn has never been a particularly fashionable club. In recent years, the club has tried to address this liability through a policy of meta-sexualisation. Unfortunately, the meta-sexualising has worked a little too well and the market has begun to think that the Hawk’s Eye should be reserved for the Queer Guy.

The foundations of Hawthorn's homosexual image can be traced to its entry into the VFL in 1925. Along with hideous colours of brown and yellow, administrators didn't see the need for an intimidating name for the club was initially known as the 'Mayblooms' and then the 'Mayflowers'. Admittedly, Mayblooms wasn't as effeminate as other flowers under consideration, such as daisies and tulips; however, Mayblooms still lagged a significant way behind more imposing flowers such as snap-dragons.

Understandably, the Mayflowers weren't the coolest club on the block and thus struggled to attract decent players. In these early years "success" and "Hawthorn" were a contradiction in terms for only once during the period 1925 to 1956 did the club manage more wins than losses for the year.

In 1950, Hawthorn changed its moniker from Mayflowers to Hawks and this change could itself be regarded as a psychologically significant development in the club's emergence out of the doldrums. In 1961 it won its first premiership. More successes followed in 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1988-89, and 1991

besides, Spies, did you know that the tigers were once known as the yellow and black "Angels" ?

:angel13:

"The emotion of Richmond fans is a mixed blessing for the club. When the players are down, the fans are extremely hostile, even to the point of spiting at their own players. But unlike Collingwood fans who are scathing of their player's ability, Richmond fans are scathing of their players effort. They are usually quite optimistic about the player's potential."

hmmm this sure does sound like you Spiesy, Richo, Crotchin etc

"Richmond fans typify the famous quote: "Football isn't a matter of life and death. It's much more important than that". So seriously do Richmond fans take their football, the club is prone to extremes of popularity. In the good times, it ranks alongside Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon as one of Melbourne's "big four". In bad times, Richmond fans desert the club as they are unable to cope with the stress of losing. Their popularity subsequently ranks alongside the likes of North Melbourne.

Finals are over-rated

Tiger fans are notoriously demanding. Arguably they are also the most incapable of coming to terms with losing. They are not like St Kilda fans who see losing as somewhat part of their identity, or Sydney fans who will be unfazed and find another form of entertainment, or Collingwood fans who will be disappointed by still struggle onwards. No, for Richmond fans, defeat is a cut that is almost too difficult to bear."

^ someone's viewpoint, hardly historic facts... flower boy.

Believe me, Richmond fans are just sick of being shit for so long... we've finished 9th wayyyy more times than anyone else in recent years.... frustrated, that's all.

PS: nothing wrong with Richo or Cotchin's skills or efforts this year... Richo was a favourite for the Brownlow for a large part of the year, and Cotchin would have taken out the Rising Star had he not missed so much of the early part of the year with injury.

I heard that starting next year there will be a flag for the top team that didn't make the finals. It will be made out of toilet paper, used syringes and old recylced, Richo football cards. Mass produced, this will become a "hot item" over off Punt Road.

It's what I heard.

I don't follow my good sir...

2008 AFL All-Australian Team:

Backs:
Dale Morris (W Bulldogs)
Matthew Scarlett (Geelong)
Tom Harley (Geelong, vc)

Half-Backs:
Luke Hodge (Hawthorn)
Nathan Bock (Adelaide)
Sam Fisher (ST Kilda)

Centres:
Jimmy Bartel (Geelong)
Joel Corey (Geelong)
Adam Cooney (W Bulldogs)

Half-Forwards:
Steve Johnson (Geelong)
Nick Riewoldt (St Kilda)
Brent Harvey (N Melbourne)

Forwards:
Brendan Fevola (Carlton)
Lance Franklin (Hawthorn)
Paul Medhurst (Collingwood)

Followers:
Dean Cox (West Coast)
Chris Judd (Carlton, c)
Gary Ablett (Geelong)

Interchange
Corey Enright (Geelong)
Matthew Pavlich (Fremantle)
Matthew Richardson (Richmond)
Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle)

I don't believe Morris and Harley should be in the team.

And I reckon Richo should swap places with Harvey.

fucks sake, its sport, since when do you not get up on someone elses team when the team you barrack for is winning, its called bragging rights.
If you are playing in that team, ie if OB was playing for the Hawks, THEN its bad sportsmanship to be bragging IMO but not when you're just a supporter.

Nah - that's OB's style now a days Spiesy.

he thinks that since he got residency he's "one of us"

He really still sleeps in his LA Raiders Pyjamas and supports the Seattle Supersonics.

This footy thing is just a cover so we accept him in our gang.

Whoa cowboy!!!

First up - I was just teasing OB.

Secondly, no - not everybody gloats about winning at the expense of others, be it a team you play in, or a team you support.
