here's an idea Olie - everytime you want a ciggie, stick a pine-cone up your cunt. Pretty soon you will run out of pine-cones, and the universe will implode on itself and you will go back to the real 1985.

I tried a bunch of times but always failed, i dont think i either had the right reasons nor the strong desire.
On January 3rd this year I had an epipheny about my health, walked down stairs and gave my pack to a mate. Cold turkey, just like that. Quitting smoking was one of the easiest things I have done. I had a craving once, just one time and I told myself I would have a smoke in a little bit, kept putting it off till the craving passed. I am amazed at how easy it has been. I think it is all about reason and desire.

werd. there's no point in quitting unless you want to. Feeling like you should isn't strong enough. Cold turkey is the only way I reckon. Doing it spontaneously is so much easier because there's no lead up. I find the easiest way to kill a craving is thinking about how shit it tastes and how crap it makes me feel. The idea of a cigarette is infinitely better than the cigarette itself. Exercise is a great way to stay quit.

good luck. smoking isn't worth it.

good luck dude, i haven't had one in almost 4 months and i feel great.

it's not as hard as you think - i think a lot of people build it up too much in their heads and doom themselves to fail.

I did it 6 months ago, still going strong.

The secret to my success? I made sure I had exactly 1 cigarette "on call" at any time, so that I knew at any point that the reason I'd stopped was because I wanted to, not because I just didn't have any cigarettes. Bonus points for naming the cigarette - that way you become attached to it like a farm animal and eating it is just inhuman. :)

That one smoke stayed with me in a pack for about a month until someone else who had quit smoking who I told about my one smoke stole the fucker and smoked it. :D

After that I was too upset to ever smoke again.

I read somewhere that a survey was done about the current socio-status of smokers, and it basically concluded that smokers are buying less smokes to pay for more urgent things like mobile phone costs.

So in natural affect smoking has always been a social "need" thing -- much like our reliance on technology is moreso today.

Go figure...

just do it lizkins. quitting all vices at once is bound to be a little harder. but imagine how good you are gonna feel once it is done. I have quit everything over the course of the last 6 months (well, i still drink sometimes) and feel so much better for it. Even sex is better (now there's incentive for ya...)
