"alice in wonderland" was awesome, but i highly recommend leaving the cinema ~15mins before the end of the film if you can time it right.

3.5 off with their heads.

Saw Alice In Wonderland on Saturday. Fucking WOEFUL. It's sad when the best part of a movie is Helena Bonham Carter.

so many conflicting reviews. i think its all what you expected of it. i wanted visual spectacular, story that didn't annoy me and good acting, and i got all three...others i know that have had issue with it have gone into great detail in comparison to the first one. i wasn't expecting a repeat. i thought it was fricken radness...

I really liked it too. I do enjoy Burton's films though, pretty much all of them. Depp was brilliant and i had quite a few giggles. 8)

I never got to see it in the end! gonna go this week for sure. looks wicked.

sat through 4 hours of the fuckin Oscars though which was boring and lame.

even George Clooney, who is arguably the smarmiest man on the planet, looked really uncomfortable throughout as the tacky production and poor editing really let it all down. He's also looking really old now.

I gave the Oscars this year 3/10

steve martin tbf. and when nph is a feature you really have started to hit rock bottom.

they deserve it tho. they had the option of pushing the envelope by using sasha baron cohen, and instead decided to embrace mediocrity and go with steve martin and alec baldwin. result was obvious for all.

Saw the Hurt Locker last night.

WTF. It's not even a film, It's a mockumentary with actors. Like they do on crimestoppers.

Thinly veiled propaganda tbh. 2/10

How it beat Avatar is anyone's guess...

^^^ I saw it on the weekend too. Now, within 5 minutes I thought Avatar was better, BUT, I love that fantasy type stuff more than I do war stories, so that would make sense.

I thought it was an excellent film, really quite interesting but for me, these movies are only interesting cos Ive never been to war, nor will I, nor would I ever request to be in the army, so anyone signing up for that makes for an interesting story for me.

Am interesting in Green Zone, seems to have more of an actual story other than the expected war difficulties.

Started watching Hurt Locker and couldn't sit through it. Got an hour in and it was doing our heads in. Soooooooooooooooooooooooo slooooooooooooooooow. Such a bullshit one sided big ups to the American troops it was nauseating. So glad I wasn't stuck in a cinema.

Also started Whip It and turned it off about half an hour in. BOOOOOOOOOOOORING! Over did the butch/alternative/super uber cool derby chick thing way too much imo and tedious formulaic story line. Yawn.

Dunno if it's been mentioned here yet but has anyone seen "9"? It's a pretty cool short CG flick directed I think by Tim Burton. It's a weird post apocalyptic story bout robots. It's very cool. Worth a watch.

'9' was produced by tim burton and is a remake of the short by the same director, shane acker, which was nominated for an oscar back in 2005.

cool film.

Oh Witty, NOOOOOO!!! I LOVED that movie, loved loved loved.

Seen a few these last few days.

The Soloist - What a RAD film! I really REALLY enjoyed that one. Jaime Fox is brilliant.
The Wackness. Liked this one too. A bit full on in some parts, along the mental illness tip, but brilliant i thought.
Speed Racer. Shit man, what? Lost interest after 15 minutes and made a new playlist instead of watching it. Fucking boring as bad shit.
And nemo was on sat night, had to go there again, just had too. :D

Seen 'The Wire'?

I love it because it's so anti-Hollywood.

It's not against Hollywood, but it's polar opposite with how Hollywood shoots the vast majority of movies and TV shows.

No background music, not particularly attractive actors, real dialogue, based on real events and written by people who saw it all. It even stars people who were actually part of the initial stories.

Saw District 9 on the weekend... meh, it was okay - but nothing flash IMO. 6.5/10.

saw Twilight 2 last night, pretty heavy emotional film full of fuckign complex dialouge. Wish it was a bit longer, will prob rewatch later on.

Bit gutted for Jacob, he got treated like shit imo. Bella is really selfish and is basically a sociopath.

I'm pretty sure I am the only person on the planet who thought that this was nothing but an hour and a bit of Tarantino masturbating to a film of Tarantino masturbating. Self-referential wank with one or two highlights/amusing moments padded out with enough film-school lecture material to cover an entire semester of 'Tarantino... God, or douchebag foot-fetishist who rips off John Woo more often than he changes his high-waisted tighty-whiteys?'.

I gave it 1 1/2 Jack Rabbit Slims.
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

3 movies i reccomend i saw pon the weekend.

The Box - AWESOME! loved it, all round. by the guy who wrote donnie darko and has the same vibe to it, surreal and suspenseful.

Up in the air - not a george clooney fan but i liked this one. cute, good story, and well acted.

Daybreakers - what can i say? I just love vampire flicks. pretty gruesome, good story. liked it!
