Work related

Paste some work related stuff, like something you work with every day, but would mean nothing to anyone that doesn't work there. For example, account details, order info, task status, what ever, you can block out any private info.
Dunno why I started this, but why not...

I just typed:
ACCC threatens Hardie over $2b compo shortfall
SYDNEY: The consumer watchdog will take James Hardie Industries to court seeking restoration of up to $2 billion for asbestos disease victims unless the company agrees to a full settlement in negotiations with the ACTU.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission plans to mount the action in the Federal Court, but would seek “execution” of a successful case overseas. Since Hardie has comparatively little in the way of assets or cashflow in Australia, the ACCC would go to courts – either in The Netherlands, where Hardie’s parent company is registered, or in the US, where it makes most of its income – to enforce an Australian judgement.
Directors say Vic work safety reforms too hasty
MELBOURNE: The Victorian Government will push ahead with new laws that threaten jail for workplace safety breaches, ignoring demands from company directors for a consultation period on the legislation.
The new legislation – soon to be debated in state parliament – almost quadruples the maximum fines for workplace safety breaches to $922,500 and allows jail terms of up to five years for individual first offenders.
But the Australian Institute of Company Directors has attacked the state government for rushing the legislation through without consultation with industry groups, warning that businesses could leave Victoria because of the tough new laws.
AICD chief executive Ralph Evans said the institute supported strong laws and hefty fines where necessary in the interests of workplace safety.
He said it was a “very disappointing outcome” that the government did not release draft legislation for consultation before its presentation to parliament on November 17.

i have another 6 pages of this bullshit to type out :

Sourcing and maintaining a skilled, capable and available workforce and supply base from the local area is an integral part of the Consortiums approach to delivery of the *** Project. The Consortium is committed to maximum utilisation of local industry (including indigenous participation) throughout the life of the *** Project. In addition to this plan, the level of our commitment is reflected in:
· The identity of consortium members
· Consultants engaged to date by the consortium; and
· The arrangement we have with the ***(LDC), the aboriginal traditional owners of this site.

This is discussed in more detail below.

If successful, the Consortium will refine this LIPP Plan in consultation with the Territory (and specifically DIPE) in accordance with the Territory’s Local Industry Participation Guidelines 2003 and the Local Industry Participation Policy 2003.

The final LIPP Plan will be a schedule to the Concession Deed and Project Development Agreement, with specific requirements included for each Stage of the DCW Project. The LIPP plan will be reviewed and updated regularly. For example, after Practical Completion of the DCEC, the LIPP Plan for the Concession Deed will turn its focus to operational requirements.

Attention: Miss Friday
E-mail: ***

Sponsorship Rec No: ***
Sponsor: ***PTY LTD
Sponsorship of: ***
Period of stay: *** to ***

Main Visa Applicants:
***, DOB: ***
***, DOB: ***

SPONSORSHIP FOR A CULTURAL/SOCIAL (TEMPORARY) (CLASS TE) SUBCLASS 420 (ENTERTAINMENT) VISA

I am writing to advise you that the sponsorship lodged in relation to the abovenamed visa applicant(s) have been assessed, and on the basis of the information provided you are considered to meet the sponsorship requirements.

Please note that the visa application(s) for the abovenamed person(s) have also been approved. This means that you must meet the sponsorship obligations set out below. Should any of the information provided to this office in relation to this application change, you must notify this office immediately.

As an approved sponsor you have agreed to accept responsibility for:

· all financial obligations to the Commonwealth incurred by the applicant arising out of the applicant’s stay in Australia;
· compliance by the applicant with all relevant legislation and awards in relation to any employment entered into by the applicant in Australia; and
· unless the Minister otherwise decides, compliance by the applicant with conditions under which he or she was allowed to enter Australia (in most instances these conditions include the condition that the holder of the visa is not permitted to change employer without the permission of the Secretary of this Department).

If the person(s) who have been granted a visa in relation to your sponsorship leave your employ, or if the activities specified in your sponsorship are varied, you must notify this office in writing.

As mentioned, the visa application(s) made by the person(s) listed above have been approved. Written advice of this decision will be provided separately. Please ensure that this advice is provided to the person(s) listed above as soon as possible.

What conditions are attached to visas in Subclass 420:

A visa in this subclass is subject to the following mandatory conditions (for the primary applicant):

8107 The holder must not:

(a) if the visa was granted to enable the holder to be employed in Australia:
(i) cease to be employed by the employer in relation to which the visa was granted; or
(ii) work in a position or occupation inconsistent with the position or occupation in relation to which the visa was granted; or
(iii) engage in work for another person or on the holder’s own account while undertaking the employment in relation to which the visa was granted; or
(b) in any other case:
(i) cease to undertake the activity in relation to which the visa was granted; or
(ii) engage in an activity inconsistent with the activity in relation to which the visa was granted; or
(iii) engage in work for another person or on the holder’s own account inconsistent with the activity in relation to which the visa was granted.

8109 The holder must not change details of times and places of engagements specified in the application to be undertaken in Australia during the visa period, without the prior permission in writing of the Secretary.

It is possible for this Department to include additional discretionary conditions on the visas of either the primary visa holder or their dependents in this visa subclass. If this has occurred then advice of those additional conditions will be included in the visa decision letter.

Other visa information:

The visa decision letter provided will also include the following details:

(a) in the case of an applicant who is currently outside of Australia, a “must not arrive after” date. This is the latest date on which the visa is valid for entry to Australia. If the person attempts to enter Australia after this date they will not be allowed entry to Australia on this visa;
(b) in all cases a description of the “travel facility” applicable to the visa allowing either single, or multiple entry to Australia; and
(c) in all cases a “stay until” date. This is the last date on which the visa holder can lawfully remain in Australia on this visa (unless another visa is subsequently granted).

What the visa holder(s) should do now:

The visa holder(s) will be advised in their letter of what they may be required to do now. The advice will be either that:

- the visa approval letter will serve as their record of the visa that has been granted, and they will be able to travel to, enter, and remain in Australia using their valid passport; or
- that they should approach the nearest Australian mission (or office of this Department if they are in Australia), and provide a copy of their visa approval letter and their valid passport to obtain a visa label as evidence of the visa grant. The visa holder will be directed to the nearest mission to their current residential address as advised to us. If the visa holder is not able to attend that particular mission for any reason, they should advise this office as soon as possible.

Please ensure that the visa holder(s) are aware of the information contained in this letter, and that they are provided with the attached visa approval letter. If a visa holder is travelling without a visa label, it is recommended that they keep a copy of the visa approval letter with their valid passport.

The visa holder(s) should also retain a copy of their visa approval letter as evidence which may be required by the Australian Taxation Office for retrieval of any superannuation contributions that they may be entitled to receive on return to their country of residence.

If you have any inquiries concerning the content of this letter, please do not hesitate to contact me at the contact points listed below.

Legal documents are too long to put up and also confidential (with way too much stuff to delete). I was working on a 791 pager the other day.

But i shall chuck some of our fav words in for ya:

Inter alia
Notwithstanding
Herein thereafter
Judgment - note the spelling on this one, lawyers are such a special breed that they are allowed to change the spelling of words, oh yes they can.

i could go on but i canna be fagged today...

here's a chunk of flash code. note the variable called bFuckShitUp, which is what happens to my variable names when i get frustrated:

Code: Select all

initClips = function() {
	for (i=0;i<aClips.length;i++) {
		mcContainer.createEmptyMovieClip("mcImg"+i,i);
		mcContainer["mcImg"+i]._y = 90;
		mcContainer["mcImg"+i].createEmptyMovieClip("img",1);
		mcContainer["mcImg"+i].img._x = -10;
		mcContainer["mcImg"+i].img._y = -10;
		mcContainer["mcImg"+i].initX = aPositions[i];
		mcContainer["mcImg"+i].attachMovie("mcMask","mcMask",2);
		mcContainer["mcImg"+i].setMask(mcContainer["mcImg"+i].mcMask);
		mcContainer["mcImg"+i]._visible = false;
//		mcContainer["mcImg"+i].img._x = 720;
		if (i>0) {
			mcContainer["mcImg"+i].mcMask._x = 0;
			mcContainer["mcImg"+i].img._x = 720;
//			tarX = 720;
		//} else {
//			tarX = 0;
		//}
		} else { //init animation
			bFuckShitUp = true; // stops next one fucking it up
			mcContainer["mcImg"+i].mcMask._x = 720;
			mcContainer["mcImg"+i].img._x = mcContainer["mcImg"+i].initX;
			mcContainer["mcImg"+i].onEnterFrame = function() {

					if (this.mcMask._x >= 1 || this.img._x >= -9) {
						bFuckShitUp = true;

						this.img._x = ((this.mcMask._x/720)*this.initX)-10;
						this.mcMask._x += (0-this.mcMask._x)/3;
					} else {
						this.mcMask._x = 0;
						this.img._x = -10;
						this.onEnterFrame = undefined;
						bFuckShitUp = false;
						//trace("out!");
					}
				}
			}
			//mcContainer["mcImg"+i].img._x = -10;
		}
		//trace(mcContainer["mcImg"+i]);
	}
	mcContainer.onEnterFrame = function() { // init photo preloader

sorry, i meant photoshop.

you should be able to drag a pdf in there and rasterise it to whatever size, then just save it as a bmp.

Acrobat only had the option to Save a Copy or Save as Text and Photoshop didn't have a bmp option under it's Save As

I'm using Creative Suite too, surprised I haven't worked it out yet

startin' to piss me off

ONE WEEK LATER:

Me - "Hello (place ISP name here) Ali speaking"

Tool - "Hello I can't seem to log onto the internet, are your servers down?"

Me - "No you moronic f**k, you just haven't paid your account for nearly a year"

Tool - "Oh I thought you had my credit card details"

Me - "Yes we did but it expired three months ago"

Tool - "Well youse never informed me"

Me - "Well that is strange (sarcastic) you SHOULD have received notification via e-mail AND post. I'm just checking your support log and we did yry to call you on numerous occasions."

Tool - "Oh"

Me - "Well here let me check your details, billing address and such... are you still at (street name and number, suburb, tasmania) ?"

Tool - "Yes"

Me - (dead air)

And so on and so forth, but I will be walking from this place in less than a month, thank YAY! no more dead shits to deal with on a daily basis!!!

Oh and cheers to whoever started this thread, I really needed to get that off my chest :wink:

open the PDF in Photoshop, which will raster it, then either "Save for Web" or "Save a Copy" and choose "BMP" or "WBMP" as your file format. (virtually any version of Photoshop after 5.5 will let you do this)

Alright,

I can safely say it's good to be back in the confines of DMC Beats after a massive holiday in South East Asia. Plenty of stories, photos and video to be seen.. let's just say that Thailand has a bigger Jungle following then you all might think... picture this: a couple of thousand people on the beach, barefoot in the sand losing it to D&B... everynight of the week.. splendid.

Here's the first lot of titles straight outta the UK... more to come later in the week.

Baron & Friction - Butt Ugly Martians (Baron Incorporated)
Black Sun Empire - BNegative (Illskillz) (Ill Skillz)
Flex - Hear Dis 1 (Mac II)
ICR - Change Inside (ASC Remix) (Offshore)
Keaton & Hive - No Hope / Redemption (Refuge Audio)
Klute - No One's Listening Anymore LP (Commercial Suicide)
Optiv & Gridlok - Panache (Project 51)
TKO - Alien Nation (Abstract Inc)

All available to buy online @ http://www.dmcrecords.com.au/online

Unsure if Seven or Fletch mentioned, but the boys have dug up some older titles and have put it up for a fiver each... plenty of gold to dig for, plus the racks are still a tenner each. Get on to it

where are you purchasing them from D-Boy?

I used to manage The Image Bank (now Getty Images) and could probably give you some tips for searching and also for getting them cheaper.
