Hell yes.

Camped out in Geelong. Was 2nd in line - two dudes were set up from 9pm. What a long haul. There were two registers and we had one on the 9am deathknock. I guess having to buy a total of 11 tickets all sitting together got us in row i. Still, only 9 rows from the front. This is going to be a shitty five month wait.

that sucks for you if you really wanted to go.
shits me how promoters deliberatley under sell an act so they maximise profits and pack out venues so they're too rammed.

I'd say it's people just trying to put off the scalpers by mega over-bidding on the tickets so no-one who actually wants them can even get them and get over charged. It happened for splendor in the grass too. I heard a radio report on JJJ about it (splendor).

You cant sell drugs or guns on ebay or the paper, so why dont they just not allow this kind of advertising? Surely that would help..

I just heard that they cancelled over 1300 tickets to the Cricket coz they were scalped on eBay

Apparently if you bought them you have to try and get a refund from the seller or apply for compensation through eBay's Buyer Protection thing.

So if they can't scalp tickets to the Cricket, how can this be allowed?

^^^ It's all in the conditions of sale.

Cricket specifically put in a condition that tickets could not be re-sold for more than the face value of ticket.
They even hired heaps of P.I.'s to track 'em down.

I'd say more and more promoters will be doing this. Unless someone takes the whole thing through the courts... and the scalpers win.
