Tool will have to be done and dusted by 10pm to adhere to sound restrictions around Music Bowl. So ppl could make it to crystal meth after.

It's not enough. I need more. Nothing seems to satisfy. I don't want it. I just need it. To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive!

That was pretty cool. As I've said previously I haven't really dug anything tool have done since Aenima, but they are fucking impressive live. A bit peeved they didn't play anything off Undertow (PRISON SEX FTW!!!) but they did play Aenima at the end which was rad. Got pretty bored by the 30 minute wank they had at the middle, but this relieved when some goose/champion decided to climb onto the roof and dance around so it wasn't all bad.

Them lights were real pretty.

fucking awesome

i am tired as hell

hungover

voice like madge off neighbours

god i love that uniquely tool gutteral bass- the one that catches you right in the throat

maynard came outta the womb a rock star faw shaw. loves being the 'dark' enigma don't he? poor drummer copped the full light all night while he pulsated and lumbered in the dark left

graphics/vj'ing was wicked- suitably dark and fucked up

reach for the lasers

stinkfist and aenima fucking OUT.OF.CONTROL

bu the boys inside the ride and esp panik for those unbelievably ace seats- E33- i love you so

those queues to get in were ridiculous

interesting goth rock, hippie stoner, urban surfie, rock pig and usual suspects eye candy

dickwad security guy at the front who was the most committed crowd controller ever

fuck you buddy- i got pics :smt098

oh what a bumper night- moreso for some in our party lol

recovery first..

i think i was the only one in the entire place lovin Shapeshifter being there. no one else seemed to care, and hardly cheered after each song.

that is from the perspective of sitting on the grassy noll

double coffee break has pepped me up

al, will post em tomoz when the world slows down- i'm having a day off guvners . shapeshifter played to an almost empty seating area because everyone was still waiting in those bloody crazy lines outside. they sounded a bit lost on that big stage but held up ok. liz can attest to grassy knoll reception. (sp. liz lol). where we were people weren't that into it. me and glenny danced though. and they did get applause at the end.

fi: yeh, was a bit chilly. i took a hoodie and was glad for it

i keep remembering the visuals- some weird ass stuff- pan's labyrinth cross pagan symbolism cross psychedelic waves and patterns you wwanted to reach out and touch

how's the 'ear drawer' that they pulled out of the head and the removal of that big long vein from the guy's neck- and those freaky little people. jeebus

omg it was so good. my nerves are still twitching and i'm still smiling too mr kamis :D

hehe sorry liz

lasers were wicked. safe as fuck

i'm like a kid when they fire em up- esp with the smoke screen overlaid- like moving clouds

oh- and what with the sit down on the stage and have a break in the interlude and maynard with the megaphone- FUCKING awesome

and the sea of lighters looked pretty cool. bet there were a lot o people who had no fire left to light their durries when they got out though haha

that was the best rock gig I've ever seen

Nik & I got escorted to the front of the massive queue by a couple of really friendly cops. Off to a good start

was a shame that no one was really feelin' the Shapeshifter vibe. Gnat & I were brockin out though. Big Ups to the boys for scoring that support gig. There'd be alot of jealous bands around I reckon

Tool absolutely smashed it! I only have a couple of minor gripes. Maynards vocals weren't loud enough and he stood in the dark, out of sight for the whole gig. Apart from that though everything was top notch. That drummer (forgotten his name) is a farken MACHINE! Visuals & lasers were brilliant.
Highlight: Aenima. fark that was good!

Security were a pack of Nazi's. "If Maynard see's a camera he'll walk off stage, he's done it before". yeah whatever

props to the Row E crew who were lovin' every minute of it.

my head hurts

Danny Carey - BEST DRUMMER EVER! Did he rock the 15 minute drum solo again (saw em in Wellington NZ 1996 or 7)? The dude is a absolute fucking legend.

Scientists recently proved that, while legendary, Danny Carey is in fact the THIRD best drummer. The top 5 goes like this:

1) Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Fantomas)
2) Tomas Haake (Meshuggah)
2) Danny Carey (Tool)
4) Daryl Somers (Hey Hey It's Saturday)
5) Some other cunt, Phil Collins maybe.

I would have thought the boffins would include john bonham and keith moon on that list.
I know larry mullen is your favourite and you would like to have passionate bumsex with him and his vocalist, Hardy. Dont even try to deny it! :smt098
See hes already assuming the fisting position! Or is he giving an air blowie?

I once had Bono assume the position, ready and waiting for me to take him to brown heaven... but I was so starstruck and nervous I couldn't get it up. I had to shake hands with his beef, and then he left. Undoubtedly the most embarrassing night of my life! He obviously told his mates about it too, because I was front row at the concert the next night, and Adam Clayton and The Edge just kept sniggering at me.
