Fuck yes!

Lucky enough to see Tool in both Lisbon and Amsterdam on European tour. Some of the new album sounds nmuch better live. Visuals as always outstanding. Danny incredible.

Doubly lucky to be home for this show!

Hopefully the set list has changed a bit

but by then IÂ´ll be ready to hear it all again.

here are a couple pics from Lisbon. Cameras were banned (full search! wtf?) in Amsterdam.

i had a dream about this concert last night.

it was in a school hall and no-one was there except the school band waiting to do their recital. they were singing a fat freddy's drop tune with monkey from korn. weird.

Actually it was on a very large stage at Lisbon's Superrock Festival. Bigger than BDO mainstage but with 2 massive side screens as well as Tool's own 4 screens. Without doubt the best open-air large rock stage I've seen. Great sound and lighting. Definately not an intimate gig though.

I did manage to get close, but had to push through and piss off about 20,000 sweaty Portuguese dudes to get there.

It was worth it though!

I'm getting concerned that their (ticketmasters) server will shit itself when everyone tries to get tix at 9am on friday... maybe worth going to an outlet.

I have promised my tool-buddies back home to be in trice-daily contact until tickets are secured!

And have finally found a place that will allow me to hit up ticketmaster at the right hour from here in guatemala.

(globalisation has certain advantages)

Lisbon and Amsterdam were amazing, but there is nothing like seeing one of your favourite bands/DJs/producers in your home town with the buddies you fell in love with their music with.

Unfortunately clicking away here for an hour in Guatemala has amounted to nothing and the concert is sold out...

Now i will just have to wait Â´nerviously for my Plan A to either confirm or deny the existence of said golden tickets...

From the word on the web it seems there will be quite a few disappointed peeps.

what i like about tool is that t.d.n has a section where you can trade tickets or sell them for the purchase price only - no mark ups. as opposed to ebay... scalping is a rampant plague. its so simple and harmless and easy and the band still gets as much money as it would and... whatever.

seeing tickets for 'sale' on ebay, for twice the original price, 30mins after they went on sale, and with the concert sold out in less than an hour; it's pathetic, really.

i think they will play more shows too.

And re. the scalping....it's been suggested that people setup an eBay username and just bid $1000+ on every scalper there. No sweat losing the 'feedback' etc. A mate of mine even wrote off his account re. Meredith Fest last year to try and stop the guys selling for a profit.

i sat at the computer for an hour hittin refresh, hittin redial on the phone, and i scored 2 tickets, but i missed out on reserve. and fuck yeah i agree with handjam, seein those tickets on ebay within 20 minutes made me pretty angry. Like if ur payin that much for a ticket, ud want it to go to the band, not some dickhead who lined up just to rip people off and doesnt even appreciate the music. boils my blood it does!
