Does anyone regularly use Gmail chat on their iPhone? Have you ever had weird shit happen like it shows you as online (green) when you really aren't?

Re: iPhone.. zomg
The new firmware is gonna be sweet! Most of the features that other smartphones have will be included. Cut, copy and paste, MMS, Bluetooth, tethering, turn by turn gps, ability to forward SMS and sent business cards and lots more. Apparently 100 new features but still no flash player!

Re: iPhone.. zomg
I wouldn't expect flash player in a hurry. Basically the iphone can only run one app at a time, and would have to do something like switch between safari and what ever flash app is running on the page...
Re: iPhone.. zomg
also flash player would make it easier to build flash apps that could bypass the app storeandy_hoffman wrote:. Apparently 100 new features but still no flash player!

Yeah, me too, but I found it's last straw and broke it. Did alright for however many years. Still works 100% though, haha. Just need to fix it.
Re: iPhone.. zomg
How big is the crack? I shattered my screen all the way. Still works. Gonna cost about $40 to fix the glass myself.

Wrong!
Apple claim that allowing multiple applications to run at the same time is bad for battery life so it won't be in the next update.

Proper support for push will negate the need for (most) background apps anyway, so it's all good.

just succumbed to the peer pressure, loving it already.
Re: iPhone.. zomg
So I was all ready to purchase an Iphone the plan was to get one from Optus on its cheapest plan then unlock it and drop my telstra sim in it (free unlock from Optus on plan).
Went into the Telstra store to discuss, they claim if I was to do this I would not be able to use all the features, and there would be some syncing issues, not sure if this was just a sales ploy or correct information.
Has anybody else done something similar or know if this correct?

It's free over WiFi with iPhons.
Skype in general is free, like VoIP, to other Skype phones.
Am I right?

Only wireless I believe - still cool and free for skype to skype calls...
Re: iPhone.. zomg
I heard on 3RRR's geek show that the newest generation iPhone also does MMS. Now I'm 85% sure I'll get one. Dragging my feet still...emotional rather than logical reasons. My current cunt of a Nokia N70 is losing battery power every day so the time is nigh.

as for the skype issue there apps to trick programs into thinking your using a wifi connection instead of edge / 3G.

Once you actually get the iPhone, you're going to realise how irrelevant MMS actually is. You've got FREE INTERWEBS AND EMAIL AT YOUR FINGER TIPS EVERYWHERE YOU GO!!!mixtress wrote:I heard on 3RRR's geek show that the newest generation iPhone also does MMS. Now I'm 85% sure I'll get one. Re: iPhone.. zomg
Well, as an example I'm on a 250MB/month data plan with Optus and I've never come close to hitting even 100MB, and I use it *all the time*, like I'm talking obsessively, to the point where my girlfriend actually takes it away from me for long periods of time so I'll acknowledge her presence. As long as you don't sit on YouTube or stream music over 3G all day long, you won't ever come close to hitting your limit (and even if you do, you can talk your way out of it - Optus will always let you off if you mention this bug), so yeah, free interwebs 4eva.
Re: iPhone.. zomg
how much you payin' for 250GB per month A1?
I'm on a $79 Telstra plan atm (which ran out two months ago so I'm free as a bird to change over). I get about $350 calls with this that I never ever use. Want something similar with the iPhone...is your plan like this?

With Optus the 250mb data plan is $49 with $300 worth of text/calls. Its the one I'm on. But I'm also paying $13pm phone repayments (24 months for the 16gb) and $11pm insurance.mixtress wrote:how much you payin' for 250GB per month A1?

BrB, you paying for the phone as well or does it come free with that cap plan?
Think Mecka's deal sounds more to my liking if I still have to pay for the phone on $79 cap.
I don't use the 3G function on my current phone so don't suppose it'd be worth getting 1GB, or $600 worth of calls for that matter lol...I just don't use it that much.
Inneresting...
