yeah, looks hell awesome. 326ppi! when they made all their noise about their screen being best-in-class, that was bullshit because we'd shipped 220ppi in 2006, and 266ppi last year ... their contrast ratio is mint too. hopefully the camera will be ace (thank christ someone finally came out and said that quality was more important than megapixel count), battery life ftw.

can't wait!

ps: video calling is a retarded waste of time.

skype is sweet, but you're going to look like an unprecedented fucking toolbox sitting on a train holding your phone out a metre in front of you trying to make a call. the reason it never took off despite half everyone else having it for a while now isn't because their ui was crap and apple just needed to make it not awful, but because unless you're popeye, it's going to just make your arm hurt and everyone will think you're a retard.

also for his 'one more thing' it was pretty funny that someone else (us) shipped it - AND IT WAS JUST AS GOOD FOR A CHANGE - in 2006.

Could not for reading everypost.

BUT i have a question:

My boss has an iphone, he is going OS and as such does not want to gather $1000's on his bill by the auto email check thing that happens every 30 minutes.

How do i change the setting so it will only check his emails when he wants to once a day or once every 2nd day?

Lucky man is on a 3.5 week golfing holiday around the best courses of Europe - so obviously emails cannot interrupt his golfing....

nah nah... go into settings ---> General ---> Network ---> Turn Data roaming to OFF...

that will stop all apps from accessing the internet... also he can still then check email etc over wifi (in hotel or what not)

seriously... trust me...

just turn data roaming off, you never know what sneaky apps are running push updates etc...

you can still check ya email over WiFi which is all you should be doing...

I checked email/maps like 3 time in Thailand and copped a $500 bill on return :(

OK so all that is done, now if he wants to check for mail literally all he will have to do is tap the mail icon, that will then connect and once connected search for new messages?

I don't think so, you turned data roaming off!

He would need to find a wifi network, connect to that (maybe put in a password, buy access or whatever) and then tap the mail icon.

I don't have an iPhone though so I could be wrong like I was about rice not being the devil.

James is correct. You turned off international roaming. He isn't international at the moment so he won't notice the difference. once he leaves australia it will stop allowing data. which is what you want.

OK so when he wants to check his mail he does this by connecting to a wifi? Is this the only way?

I am sure the hotels they staying in will have wifi access...
