Searches

Post by mixtress »

Hey yo,

is there any way to select only 'topics' to search, instead of topics and posts. It would make for way easier searching for certain words.

for example, I'm pretty sure there used to be a Clothes/Clothing thread but when I search for it, a gazillion threads come up and none of them contain the words I searched for.

Possible?

Instead of :
Search topic title and message text
Search message text only

have

Search topic title and message text
Search message text only
Search topic title only

Cheers for considering :D

fyi: you can change what gets returned by the search to either threads or posts.

that should give you the required result (or at least make what was searched for easier to see). :)

i'll leave that to the relevant part of the manual.

that can make searching more difficult, sure. searching can be easier if you can remember part of the topic's post(s) contents, as thread titles tend to be made up of very common words/phrases.

I think it would be good to find the page where your search criteria pops up

for eg i serched for DJ howard before posting a pic before, TTAN came up (amongst others) but with the millions of pages i didnt feel like cliking through them all to check for it

same for many things - a highlight to which page it is on would be good

choose the 'post' rather than 'thread' display option.

'twould be cool if we could search by topic title. makes it easier to find things like good/bad thread and quality food that occasionally get buried.
