as part of the new board system, there is an option to store the 'read/unread' state of posts in the database, rather than in a browser cookie (as was previously done). this means that if a user logs off, they don't lose the 'read/unread' status of posts.

while i don't really mind too much either way, what do you all prefer to happen?

let the masses decide.

Cookies work fine for me. When I log out, it means I'm over it.

Besides, I'd rather it didn't say I have unread posts if the posts are ages old (and I didn't read them in the first place because I didn't care).

Same here. Cookies ftw... unless there's a button that comes along with the server-side option which essentially lets you say "Over it"

Integer approximation FAIL. Needs more exact values: 400/9 % and 500/9 % plz.

so if nine people voted here, of which three had picked one option and six had picked the other, what would that be as an exact percentage?
